Does anyone have a strategy for the PetPet Battles?

Or are they just as random as everything else on Neopets?

I think they're pretty random. You'll just have to test your chance I suppose...

That wont matter cause petpet battle use this I belive. Your level +or- 1,2,3 levels and that the type pf petpet you may battle..

It doesn't matter what level your petpet is...

It's like a big game of Paper(body blow), Rock(Shield), Scissors(head shot)...

I took on a level 3 petpet with my level 1 petpet and I won, and then the next battle I took on a level 1 and had him down to 16% (with me at 43%) and I ended up losing...

Of course after that I have sworn off EVER playing that dumb game again...

One tip I have is that once you have gained a few levels on your petpet then keep your Quick ref page open and have another pet with a level one petpet equipped. Have this pet as your active pet when you start a new battle and you will only battle the lower level petpets, then switch to the pet with the petpet whose level you want to increase. You will still be battleing a low petpet but with a higher chance of beating them!

^ i did that all the time, but i still think its all random. my level 9 sharkly lost to the lv1 angelpuss

Yeah, I kinda figured it was random. Like most of the things on Neopets, they don't offer any explanation or information, so we are left to speculate how the game might work.

How do I level up my petpet--aside from these battles?

I think head shots do more damage but hit less often than body shots.
