To those who beat NQ2 on Insane...

Mon Dec 27, 2004 7:27 am

How long did it take you? And overall, did you feel it was worth the time to get the item? I'm questioning myself over doing it or not doing it all the way through insane.. but im not sure. Im not really at a loss of Neopoints, but a good weapon would enable me to save until I can buy the ghostkerbomb.

Let me know what you think :)

I havent beaten InSaNe, but I know someone who did, and I quote:

The trick is to play the game mainly for fun, and the awsome spiffeh items you get are just a bonus. Try not to stress yourself playing the game, play about an hour a day stretched over a period of time. Then, if you lose, you can still make your self play again.

I took my time. Since my prize was a Wand of Reality, it was definitly worth it. Besides, I thought it was fun.

it took me 3 months, but if i played continuously i would have probably taken about a day/24 hours... its fun and worth it. best of all, you can win 4million np for free. even if you dont want the prize, its still worth it

Got the Tooth of Terask for an Evil prize and was pretty disgruntled about it, so I played Insane to try to recoup my investment of time spent playing - bad idea. The person who watericesage quoted had the right idea - don't think about the prize or it can ruin the experience and start to make you miserable while playing. About 75% of the way thru Insane I realized that and it became more enjoyable - good thing too...cause I got the Staff of Righteous Fury and wasn't as upset as I thought I would be.

I probably could have done it in a few days if I played constantly, but I found taking a couple days (or even a week) break kept me from being burnt out. I ended up beating the game with all my characters alive and at near full hit points. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/deevil/11.jpg. I got the Bow of Destiny as my prize, and am quite happy with it. :D

As the game is quite fun the first time you play it, it is not as fun the second, or even third time around. I started to get tired of it midway through evil mode where you're doing the exact same thing over and over again. Don't get me started on Insane mode. It took me about a week to get past the second boss because of overleveling and sheer boredom of leveling with 5-10 exp monsters. But in the long run I do believe you should play it for fun as well, worrying about the prize won't do you any good.

Now, I have 3 browsers open. One for IDNQ's maps, one for the game it self, and another one for something else you're doing. Like PPT for instance. :)

Is there some sort of guide (other than IDNQ's maps) to playing NQ2 and being good at it? I've only beaten NQ1 on the easiest difficulty and that was like...two years ago, and I just want to skip the whole trial-and-error phase of choosing skills or whatever you choose in NQ2 :).

I finished NQII Insane in . . . I dunno, 6-7 weeks? I wasn't really in a hurry and didn't play that much at a time. I think NQII Insane mode is quite do-able if you take it slow, doing just a bit every day, as someone already suggested. I always had other windows open and did other stuff while I was playing.

The prizes are a great bonus, plus the shiny gold trophy. :) I got a Bow of Destiny and was quite pleased to add it to my otherwise-mediocre battle set, though even the worst prizes are pretty darn good.

same here, i just beat evil and got that pretty worthless tooth, I dont want to do insane because i like my silver trophy and dont want gold. while doing evil I was kinda annoyed because of all the repetitivnesss of it all, but with a ramtars spellbook or a scuzzy's comb in mind, i kept at it. I was thinking of doing evil again, and hoping for a better prize. any suggestioins?

I have played insane once and completed it in 8 days. I have completed evil 8 times. I like the game and vary it each time by doing something a little different.

On the insane game, I could have finished it more quickly but I had work and other things to do. It really just depends on how much time you want to put into it.

I like NQII, but I have difficulty playing it for too long at one stretch, and often went days without playing it at all. Hence the long playing time.

 I got stuck with the Staff of Righteous Fury, which was a pretty big letdown, but overall I still think it was worth it. It's something you do for the sense of accomplishment as much as for the prize. Just playing for the prize I think would be hard going: right now I'm playing Evil a second time in hopes of getting a decent prize to sell, and it actually seems harder than it did the first time 'round, when there was also the goal of "beating NQII on Evil" to play for. Watch me get the Tooth of Terask for my pains, too.

While playing, I usually have the livejournal communities customers_suck and/or bad_service open, and read the posts there inbetween telling Rohane who to slash. They provide hours of entertaintment and keeps me from getting tired of the game. :)
