You have received an official warning from the Neopets Team for violating the Neopets Terms and Conditions. Contests, promotions, lotteries, FTPs, Wishboards, or raffles are not permitted anywhere on Neopets including shops and guilds. The majority of these are scams to get free NP, items or make people buy over-priced items. If you continue to break the rules, your account will be permanently frozen. To see a list of Neo Rules, please visit
http://www.neopets.com/chatrules.phtml. Please do not reply to this NeoMessage.
Despite the fact that my jelly giveaway was NONE of these. Sheesh, you give people stuff for nothing in return and Neo has to plug ya. I don't know who reported me or why, but they've got some nerve
Now what am I gonna do with all this jelly?

How'd the discover your giveaway? Did you have it posted on the site?
Mon Dec 27, 2004 12:42 am
On the boards, of course, and I made 11 of them over time because they died or became too full. I was giving away one thousand jellies away for free.

sounds like a giveaway to me - which lots of people have been frozen for. why didn't you just put them all on the money tree? neoboards are just askin for trouble.

*sigh* I dont think the Neoboard Monitors actually read the message. I mean, if they actually read it, and there are no strings attached, they should just let it go!
Unfortunatly, a percentage of the mods are just itchin' to press the big whitish-blue button with a snowflake on it.

Augh x_X; Maybe you could post it here instead or just randomly 'gift' people on the boards?
TNT should read the posts before they warn. If yours does nothing of that, it shouldn't be a problem.

Someone most likely reported you because they are "Report Happy", a condition also known as "Stupid".
Don't post giveaways or anything on the neoboards. Just don't.

Neopets have the most uptight rules I've ever seen. I wonder why they don't just ban human contact in general! They seem to freeze people for doing it anyways...

If TNT is getting on you for something you conducted here that that's very low, but if you made a thread on the neoboards or something like that, then you set yourself up for a warning. Feel lucky, you could have been frozen, you and your 90-something jellies.

All giveaway boards are against the rules. You could make a board saying that you are about to donate alot of jellies to the money tree and then people will know to be there. or make trades of 10 jellies and put 'Free' in your wishlist. Or just randomly give them to people.
Mon Dec 27, 2004 1:39 am
when will TNT learn? either make CLEAR, CONCISE RULES or get rid of the freaking neoboards.
or even better, both.
Mon Dec 27, 2004 1:43 am
I posted the contest on the boards because I wanted first: A wide distribution range, and second: A fair chance for participants to have jelly. The money tree has greedy people who camp there all day and just take any item they see, and probably also has a good deal of people who use programs to grab items automatically.
I gave away 299 jellies with no problem, until I moved the giveaway to the Avatars/NeoSigs board by someone's suggestion. The BDers and all the other boards I had been on hadn't complained at all save for the Help board which had a slight concern, but nobody found anything wrong with it.
Nobody here was interested in the giveaway, so I didn't bother mentioning it again until I took a screeny of my 9-times-full inventory.
[rant]It's my opinion that the customer support staff and monitors on Neopets are terrible. Once again, I find myself without ANY REPLY WHATSOEVER to my Frozen forms, and warned for something that really ISN'T against the rules- Read the warning again.
Contests, promotions, lotteries, FTPs, Wishboards, or raffles are not permitted anywhere on Neopets including shops and guilds.
Now that I look back on it, I can understand why I might have been warned so long ago for asking someone to capitalize God, but this is downright stupid. Nothing is mentioned about giving items to people at
no cost or obligation (save for posting on the board that they wanted it, which is hardly scamming people out of anything), which is what I was doing. [/rant]
Heheheh- Someone on Neo gave me a
kindness award (Though it's too pink for me
)

*shrug*
I just learn to deal with it...
As in never posting on the neoboards...
I also had the thought earlier on the other PPT post today of:
"Don't you know a decent number of us PPTers totally avoid the Neoboards?"
And you just proved why too... No flaming intended.

Actually I'm kind of glad the Neoboards are there. Yeah, people get wrongfully frozen but think about it. It's a giant fly trap for troublemakers. And as long as they are they...they won't come here.
I think it was last year when the Neoboards went down and suddenly, WHAM! PPT was full of Neoboard goers. We were drowning, the mods were busy locking here and there and we were aching for the boards to go up.
But yes, they do need better rules. And after that everyone should sit down and read the whole list TWICE. No matter how boring it may seem.
