In order to make an Abominable Snowball petpet, first you need some snow!
Dr. Sloth wanted his own Abominable Snowball, but unfortunately, there was no snow in the Virtupets Space Station. So, he had a snow machine built. The snow machine worked great, but it filled up almost the entire room, and therefore the Abominable Snowball needed to be assembled in another room. And to prevent the snow from melting before he could build it, he had a group of Grundos ready with buckets to transport the snow to another room to start building.
If each Grundo only carries one bucket, and if the bucket is a cylinder 20cm in diameter by 30cm tall, and if an Abominable Snowball requires a sphere of snow 60cm in diameter and another sphere of snow 110cm in diameter, how many Grundos are required to build three Abominable Snowballs?
I think I got it in the first few minutes.

My answer seemed rather large though, so I'm scared it's wrong.

Mine was large, too. You can find the formulas easily on Google, though.

Calculated the formula for the first part but not second im a bit confused on that
Thu Dec 23, 2004 9:56 am
I don't know geometry or whatever. Can someone please explain?
Thu Dec 23, 2004 9:58 am
if I could figure out the second part I could get it but the formulas not matching with the info

Aw.
There was a mistake in Tim's math the first time and I entered the wrong number. On the second try he got the right answer, but I had already submitted. That Robot Abominable Snowball was cute, too.

How do you convert diameter into area?

can I help people out by posting the formulas? .... or would that make it too easy?

As long as you don't give out directly the answer.
