Figured some of you guys must visit that page, so I just wanted to say that when I tried visiting their forums the only thing that popped up was a "Area88.et was here o/ " message....something bad's goin' down over there.

Yeah, I noticed that. It appears to be just the forums; the main website is still the same.

Scary...
Poor neocolours...

Ya...it was hacked a few days ago...it actually only the Forum Index that's been changed...if you link to an individual board (
http://www.neocolours.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=4), it works fine...you just can't get there through the index. And actually, once you get into a board...you can go to the bottom of the page and "Go to" any of the other boards with ease. But because this isn't as convienient as going through the index, there is less than average posting.

I happened to be a member of Neocolours, I was shocked when I saw that page, I hope they fix things up asap

I did a Google on area88.et and I came up with some msg board in some other language.

Uh oh
Now I'm worried for PPT *gulp*
I can just imagine that havoc of a 'reset post count to zero' script

I might have tohunt someone down and ....let them join me in PLAYING with my rust salad fork...

When you go to the index (the place with the big red text) it links you somewhere or something. It might be a cookie grabber. Just incase, I changed all my passwords and cleared cookies. Hope nothing bad happens!

When did all this happen?
I think there MAY be a cookie grabber there.
Stay away from Neocolours for now.

Having that happen wouldn't be bad. It's only a number, and much worse things could happen to PPT.
I'm too lazy to check, but are their forums the phpBB type (like ours)? if so, there was some kind of expoitable thing people...exploited and used to put up messages like that. It's not very harmful, the person just wanted to leave their name and trademark and go. This actually happened to Gaia Online a few weeks ago, but since half of their servers had the upgraded, non-exploitable version they bounced back pretty quickly.

Yes, Neocolors was hacked, but by a very lazy hacker.
Sun Dec 19, 2004 9:50 pm
Worse things could have happened...*remembers a scandal completely unrelated to PPT* However, although leaving a name seems like a very minor thing for a hacker to do, I think it's a warning; it shows that the hacker can do more if they want to. :|
...I'm babbling again.

Thank you SO much for reminding me of that possibility. *Goes off immediately to change password*
