I know it's been probably a good 10 months since I've done her quests...and maybe I just didn't notice, or perhaps I'm just having awfully bad luck....
Anyhow, I decided that even though I failed level 35 3 times in a row (the only 3 times I've tried, made it to 35 each time but then got burned) I'd give it another go...
Ever since level 19, she's been asking me for items that range about 20,000 np. *blink* I don't remember shelling out so much ever before. Sure, maybe an unbuyable or so by level 33...but I don't remember having to waste about 20k a pop in the 20's....4k maybe...5k...but 20k? O_o
Anyone else notice she's been asking for more expensive items recently? Or am I just having some very bad luck?
I'll still never forgive her for asking me for an item
not even released on level 35 last time though...that was just pure evilness.

She has always been evil to me. I've failed on level 35 or earlier 9 times in a row. Usually the item she asks me to find is selling for 2 million. And yes, I have also been asked for items that haven't even been released yet. I am currently on my 10th and final attempt. Seeing as how I usually end up spending 50,000 to 100,000 on each failed attempt I could have bought a stupid honey potion or two by now.
Last time she asked for a Von Roos Castle Stamp on level 33. There was only one on the TP and the guy had the date and time he restocked it listed in the wishlist. He restocked it a half hour before Illusen asked me for it. All I could think of was, why was I restocking in furniture that day instead of stamps? It could have been mine.

Ouch...sorry to hear that.

The one level 35 quest that got my goat was when she asked me "Where is my Cooty?". Of course the little witch would ask me for a petpetpet, over a week
before the petpetpet random event was launched. *sigh* I personally don't mind failing a level because "I couldn't afford it", but losing out on something that doesn't even exist, no matter what the cost...seems unfair.
I still wonder if she has somehow been raised in rarities per levels or something, any input from questers who think she maight be asking for more expensive items in the 20's I'd appreciate hearing about.

I've been noticing this too. I've only just started for the first time. I think I'm only around level 5 or 6, but even now she's asking for things that seem outrageously expensive for the level and reward (if any).

Could it just be that the number of people doing illusens quests is going up so the demand of the items is going up and therefore the prices?

When I got my honey potion, my level 35 quest was a 2k, really old battledome species item, and most things were really cheap. So relieved I never got anything more then 20k.

Hey, that's a good possibility.
I don't think that's the case though, there are so many different items out there I don't think a huge number of people questing could inflate items like that so much in such a short period of time.... but I wouldn't be shocked if maybe she's "programmed" to ask for more expensive items when she has an unusually higher amount of questers per time period.
I know with the war going on, and Honey Potion's inflation, a BUNCH of folks are trying right now....maybe with all the people she's asking for higher priced/rarity items in order to "cut the fat" and keep too many Honey Potions from being released into the market, as a safety precaution against them losing value....
Just a thought...

I think I was on level 33 when she asked for something unbuyable. Well, I guess it's time to go to the dark side... Jhundora! You get unbuyable prizes from her sooner.

Is there some kind of support group for this because I have had her and Jhudora ask for stuff that was unbuyable and I can't seem to find it anywhere...when I try the tradeing post people never respond fat enough...any ideas on how to get unbuyable stuff quick enough?

I used to be an avid trades chatter back in the day, and it was nice.

Having lots of friends who had tons of unbuyables handy and online helps a great deal...but sometimes you get unlucky.
I used to wait until I knew a great deal of people were online, and go to the neoboards for backup....people with lots of HTS's are always good to have around.

So are people with large galleries.
Sometimes your luck is just rotten though, the first time I ever failed #35 she asked me for a meepit. They were on and off buyable then at around 99,999. Out of all my friends, only one meepit was in the group. Unfortunately for me, that meepit was painted Christmas, and the one Illusen wanted was unpainted.

Yeah. I guess my downfall is that I haven't developed enough friends on neopets...Regular traders just don't seem to be in a hurry to get back to you..even if you can pay top point for it...or I just have REALLY REALLY bad luck..which is the most likley
