Ok that post on the front of PPT is quite true about Neopets not caring anymore. There are tons of comments on it too. From of course, lots of oldies.Lots of people also posted about doing something about it.So let's hear some ideas!I've been on Neopets 37 months altogether and I really want something done about it too.I love Neopets to death but what's happening these days is becoming pathetic.

Honestly, I don't think there's much you can do. I started playing Neopets back in 2000, but stopped playing for so long, I think my username is one of those that got erased. My current account is only 13 months old, and Neopets has gone downhill in their run for corporate cash. But as these things go, I think Neopets has changed much less than I would have expected. You can write all the letters you want, sign all the petitions, boycott for months. There's always someone younger, with more time to donate to the game, than you, and that's what TNT counts on.

What would you class as an "Oldie"?
I've been playing for 18 months. I emailled TNT and wrote into the editorial week after week about the elephante weapons, then they mention it but from a 5 month old player

I was a member since way back when, faerie's only costed 90nps (which to many, was billions), and they had no faces. Uhm. How long ago was that? 10years? That sounds about right. I'd look up my oldold account, but.. *gasp* it was deleted! (what a great surprise) I have some feeling ENT is going to up and delete my current account, just cause I'm not a New Member.
But I'm sure deep down ENT is very grateful we oldies have stuck around, and we buy their plushies, TCG crap, McDonald's happy meal promo plushies, voice-activated toys... Wait.
They love us for our money!

No. I don't know. Even though they don't pinpoint and say thanks to the members who've been around for along time, I'm sure they care... Or something.

If your old enough to remember when Neopets didn't have merchandise all over the place then you're an oldie I think or when they weren't totally full of glitches every time you turned around. igotphunk is right.Neopets wouldn't be alive without us oldies.I mean we were newbies at one time too.And actually many of the oldies are the ones who spend the most time on the site. For like longer amounts of time.Like me.I average nearly 5 hours or more on no school days.On school days probably about 2 or so hours.

I spend a good 3 hours a day on Neopets. Ha, I remember faeries with no faces... Faerieland was the only real other place to go... battledome was a foreign concept...
Edit: Speaking of feeling old, I've apparently forgotten how to leave! Yay!

I think I should say congrats on forgetting how to leave but I'm not sure...nice location by the way.

Wed Jun 16, 2004 8:15 am
Uhm. I've been on Neopets since about 1pm. It's now 1am....
12hours!? I thought it was only 2!!
Oy. I'm sure I've contributed 1billion of those page views mahself!

Ah, the good old days. I remember all the excitement before the battledome came out.
I would play Kacheek Seek for about 21 np a pop and think that was a lot. The carrot was one of the cheapest food items in the main shops for 3-4np a piece. Back then whenever something was updated or had to be taken down or whatever, we were told about it. When someone's cousin was sick or someone had a birthday or someone had a root canal, we were told about it in the news. When a pet was being revamped, there was a poll with a couple choices and the users picked which version they liked better. I remember when they first started merchandising. I believe it was the four t-shirts that we voted which pets were going to be on them. If you bought all four at once (I think that was $72), then you got a limited edition Neopets totebag as well (which I haven't seen since). The first plushies came in velvet bags. The whole site was not mostly for children. The ads on the site were for things like printer ink cartridges and online stock portfolio sites. I remember when the Faeries battled in the battledome and the Time Machine was in Tyrannia. Ah, it was good times back then.
Now though things are being mucked up all over and everything is about merchandising and there are sponsor ads everywhere you look. The site seems to be down more than it is up and even when it is up, you don't get credit for half the things you do. Now you can't breath wrong for fear of being frozen and interaction between users is a nono. It's a much different Neopian world we live in now, a much colder informal world. I'd rather go back to the days when I would sit in a tent outside of Neopia Central with only a couple good books to satisfy me, rather than now with all this technological tomfoolery.

Here, here!
I wonder where that crazy professer got to now? He's probably ahead in time, witnessing Neopets doom.

Very well put Jasujo.I'm not old enough to remember all those but I do remember many.

I remember the Time Machine! Oh, jeez, that was a while ago. When someone with 500,000 NP was unheard of.

I must be a semi-oldie then, because I remember the site before glitches and merchandising. I joined just before the meridell war i think it was, and hadn't a clue what was going on.
I used to spend ages on dice-a-roo, selling the foods for 50p each.
I remember playing grundo's gym and chia bingo even though they weren't listed in the games.
Chia bingo was great for page clicks, I got so many RE from just leaving the page to refresh itself.
