They're scams and lame, earn your own neopoints, and then buy your own items.

We rarely have people quitting and giving away items. We did have a very nice and lagit person give many PPTers swell gifts, but that is now over.

You can usually find such boards in the General section or the NNV section, but again they happen every rarely.

Sometimes they are scams, though. ;)

Either way, they're still lame. It sucks the challenge out of Neopets completely.

The give-aways I wouldn't trust are those announced on the Neoboards, because if they aren't trying to scam you, they're probably New Member you for their screenies page or something equally devious. I've gotten items from a handful of very generous PPTers, though (mostly out of sheer luck that I saw their boards in the first place), but give-aways here seem few and far between.

There used to be a lot more giveaways on PPT, but I guess not as many people spend as much time on Neopets anymore, so they're harder to afford. :(
