As you can see on my lookup, my hobbies currently read...

Quote:
Hobbies : Ruff!, Ruff, RUFF!!, Grrrrrr...HOOOOOOOOWWWWWLLLL!!!

I did this ages ago with a code that was on a Neopets help site. All I had to do was paste something into the address bar while on that page and the three drop down lists became areas where you could type your own text.

It didn't involve downloading any programmes, didn't involve passwords or anything like that, it was simply a code that you pasted into the address bar and hit enter with.

I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find this code again. I can't remeber where I found it and I want to use it. I can't remember where I found the code originally...

Go to the "My Profile " page and in the address bar, paste this code:

Quote:
javascript:void(x1=DetailsForm.interest_1.options[0].value,x2=DetailsForm.interest_2.options[0].value,x3=DetailsForm.interest_3.options[0].value,DetailsForm.interest_1.outerHTML="<input name='interest_1' size=50 type=text value='"+x1+"'>",DetailsForm.interest_2.outerHTML="<input name='interest_2' size=50 type=text value='"+x2+"'>",DetailsForm.interest_3.outerHTML="<input size=50 name='interest_3' type=text value='"+x3+"'>")

You should then see text boxes instead of drop-down menus. You can now type your text into the the boxes (if you want more than three, you can seperate them with commas).

Doesn't seem to work in Firefox, but does in IE.

Ive never known there was a URL way to do it. I changed my hobbies by using Opera. I went to the page where you change the hobbies, clicked 'work offline' then viewed source and changed what I wanted. I saved the source code, then refreshed the page, typed in my password and clicked update. A message asked if Id like to stop working offline, I said yes, and poof, hobbies changed.

It sounded like something Neopets wouldnt like users doing, messing with the source code and all, but Ive had it changed for a month on my side account with no problems. Also, the person who told me how to do it had an older account and said that he'd had his hobbies changed for so long that he wasnt sure if the Opera method even worked anymore. If this particular method is against the rules, it doesnt seem very enforced, and TNT havent jumped up to stop it from working. Im sure smarter PPT members would have better insight on its illegalness ;)

I wouldn't risk my account over it. The worst that would probably happen, though, is that they'd clear the hobbies info, give you a warning, and you'd have to re-enter the info.

Considering I just started a new account I'll use it... I don't have much to lose.

That's really cool.

As for whether or not it's against the rules...well, I did something vaguely like that with my pet's lookup and I just got a warning. I was covering up more than the hobbies, though. (It was a while ago.) I'd still say that this is an at-your-own-risk sort of thing...but it's still really cool.
