I will be snail-mailing the following to Neopets. I was wondering if any corrections/suggestions/comments to help me get my account back.

9/29/2005 6:38 PM
Dear Neopets,
This letter is concerning my account that was frozen. My account’s name is appalachianguy. The password for it was (Removed). There were a few stocks in it that I had bought for 15,000neopoints. One stock I had bought for 17,000. I had a couple hundred items in my Safety Deposit Box. There were 49,000neopoints in my bank account. I often buy scratch-cards and entered the Lenny Conundrum contest. I had only created one pet and his name is appalachianguy. I recently spent like 1million neopoints to upgrade my shop. The only address used for the account was mailto:appalachianguy@gmail.com. There were about 40+ neofriend request that were still pending. I had entered the World Challenge contest for Meerca Chase and Ultimate Bullseye. I did use the catapult cheat on Ultimate Bullseye and I hope that’s not the reason why I was frozen.
I only know of three reasons why my account could be frozen. I have never received a warning either. The three reasons is that I was frozen for using the catapult cheat in ultimate bullseye, that I was frozen for trying to share an account with my friend, or that all my friends gave me their items and it made it look like I was scamming. I will now go into further details.
I often play Neopian games to get my main source of Neopoint Income. I usually play the sponsor games. I rarely cheat and when I do it is just for some fun. I used the extrahypergravitymode cheat in Meerca Chase 2 and the catapult cheat in Ultimate Bullseye. Although this is cheating I do not see why I would be frozen without a warning first. If this is the case then I am VERY sorry for cheating and I know a lot of people who do that also deserve to be frozen.
I started playing Neopets because my friends at school would only talk about how they love their Neopets and they want to be so rich etc. Will I thought it was just a ‘fad’ and it would pass. Well after 3 weeks it hadn’t so I started playing to see what the fuss was all about. I instantly fell in love. Pretty soon everyone moved on and I was still addicted to Neopets. I asked my friends if I could have their accounts and almost everyone was like sure. A few of my friends still wanted their account but decided I could have the items so they sent me them. This is how I ended up getting so many items. When I saw how much I had accumulated I decided to keep the items because I was told (keep reading) and because I was going to try for the pack-rat avatar. I also bought tons of retired items because I am (now was) a collector. The night after I gave my name to Jacob so he could give me items he sent them all to me. I was shocked at the quantity of items and didn’t know his name so I quickly filed a report incase this wasn’t Jacob and some person wanting to get my account frozen. I had a conversation with Premium Support Center (Jorge B to be exact) and he told me to contact you quickly and not to sell any items. I then e-mailed you and got no response.
The last reason that I can think of for being frozen is trying to share my account with my friend (Emily). I then e-mailed you to say I was switching accounts and then she got mad at me and we never merged accounts. These are the only reasons why I could think of for being frozen. Please reply to my e-mail address with more information on why I was frozen and/or please unfreeze my account. My account’s name is Appalachianguy and my e-mail is mailto:appalachianguy@gmail.com
Why should I deserve my account back? I think I should be given a 2nd chance for whatever I have done. I never received any warnings and I took very good care of the pets I got. I often played the sponsor games and tried my hardest to support Neopets. In my mind I was an idol Neopian. I promise never to break any (more) rules and really hope you consider this. Thanks for taking your time to read this long letter. I have included my chat transcript from my convo with Jorge B from Premium Neopets Support.

-Sincerely James C.

I think that sounds persuading enough. :D Good luck!

By the way, TNT freezing your account for cheating on the games doesn't make sense. They made the cheats for the games, didn't they? So, why would they make them if they didn't want anybody to use them?

I think that sounds good. :) I'm sorry your account was frozen without warning. That's exactly why Neopets needs to stop freezing. :x Sharing accounts is against the rules, but if you never shared it, then you didn't break the rule... and if you did, it doesn't sound like you knew about it, so that's not fair. If kids are running in the hall at school and they didn't know that wasn't allowed, the teacher shouldn't expel them the first time they're caught, they just get yelled at the first time.

Good luck getting your account back!

Some people use programs to cheat.

Sounds pretty good. I would make sure I made more clear that the "cheats" I mentioned are the ones that TNT themselves supplied.

So there was no reason given at all? Not even at the login page? (My friend said that's where she saw her notice when her account was frozen.)

I would guess that the reason they froze you would be for trying to share your account, if anything. Especially if you had already reported the issue about the items your friend gave you to make it clear that you weren't trying to scam someone. Make it very clear that you did not actually go through with it.

Sorry this happened to you. I sincerely hope you get your account back.

Hi James

I am sorry you were frozen. The reason given, scamming others out of np/items, is really, really hard to fight. I have to tell you that now.

I've read your letter and it's good. Now knowing the reason for the freezing, I have a few suggestions, if I may.

Dear Neopets,

I am writing you regarding my account, appalachianguy. This account was frozen on (put date here) for (put exact reason here). The email attached to this account is (your email), my dob as listed on my account is (your date of birth). I have been a Neopets member for (months/years).

To my knowledge I have done nothing to violate your Terms and Conditions. I have never received a warning for any reason.

I have created and own only one pet (unless you have others on the account) on this account, appalachianguy, the (put species/color here), who has a petpet (type) named (name here - if you attached one) - also list any other pets/petpets you have and whether they were created or adopted, names, species, colors.

I own some stocks (do you know the name of any?), totalling approximately (however many np you've spent). My bank account is a (bank level name here) and contains 49,000 neopoints.

My shop, named (you shop name) was recently upgraded; I spent 1 million np to do so.

I did have over 40 neofriend requests pending, I am unsure why so many people are requesting (if you don't know why -- if you do know why, like if you had joined a guild - give the guild name and you wanted guildmates as nf).

I am also a Premium Member, having joined Premium (put month you joined here if you remember) - and if you've referred/gotten anyone to sign up, just how many people.

I joined Neopets because my friends at school all played and I would listen to them talk about how much they loved their pets, what they were doing on the site, etc., so I decided to give it a try. It was instant love. There is no other site on the interet like Neopets!

Unfortunately, many of my friends have since lost interest in the game and have quit. As they were quitting some of them offered me items that they had in their accounts, as they would not be using them anymore.
This is how I ended up getting so many items.

One of my friends, Jacob, sent me a large number of items. He had asked me for my Neopets username. Unfortunately, at the time I did not ask what his was, as I did not think he would send items immediately. Suddenly I found a large number of items being sent to me. I was shocked at the quantity of items sent and since I didn’t know his username, I quickly filed a report incase this wasn’t Jacob, but someone else trying to get my account frozen. I had a conversation with Premium Support Center (Jorge B to be exact) and he told me to contact you quickly and not to sell any items. I then e-mailed you but got no response.

I honestly believe that I have not done anything against the Rules. Friends have left the site and either offered or just decided to send me items they did not want anymore. I never received any warnings. I took very good care of my pets. I tried my best to support Neopets. In my mind I was a model Neopian. I promise to do my best to never to break any rules and really hope you consider this. Thanks for taking your time to read this long letter. I have included my chat transcript from my conversation with Jorge B from Premium Neopets Support.

I hope you will return my account to me. If I do not get this account back, I will probably have to cancel my Premium service, (is this your Main Account?) as this is my main Premium, neopoint earning/contest entering account.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

-Sincerely James C.

Edited per Asparagus Queen's post below :) Thanks!

I just checked. It's because everyone gave you items so fast probably. I'd talk to Jorge again.

Everconfused I am not a premium member. I just went to the Premium Help Center and talked to Jorge B over the chat.

Oh, well then just take the Premium stuff out of the letter.

Actually, you should not have contacted premium support if you're not a member. A staffer posted on the premium board - I did a c&p of the post they made:

Quote:
We are getting reports of non-premium user calls and also premium users who make excessive amounts of calls simply because they are not happy with their response. This abuse of the support line only reduces it's availability for those with legitimate problems. Please be advised, records are kept of all calls and those found abusing the lines will be warned/suspended and finally frozen if need be.

Just send your letter, I'd leave out the sharing account bit definitely. That won't help you get your account back.

More than likely, it was because you either a) got alot! of items, b) got some expensive items, or c) someone set you up - sent you things then decided to "have fun" and reported you saying you scammed them. People will do things like that. Don't ask me why, makes no sense to me.

Good luck getting your account back - keep fighting! And keep us posted on how you're doing.

Looks to me like a simple case. You shared your account. Sharing accounts is against the rules. You got frozen for it. Simple.
You can say you didn't know you weren't allowed to share your account, but if you read the rules you'd know. 'Not knowing the rule' is a bad excuse anyway. Is everyone permitted to break a rule once and then say 'oh sorry I didn't know'?
I for one would advise you to start over again, on a new account, and never ever share it.

Zenial, it wasn't because he shared his account, it was because of the flood of items he got. It said he was scamming others. You don't get the scamming others message for sharing accounts. It was probably because he reported himself for getting a lot of items, possibly because he called the premium service. (side note, I agree with the staff on that. If you're not a premium member, don't call the premium help! I pay $8 a month to have those guys available to me if I need it, if you want to talk to them, cough up the $8.)

Also, only on Neopets are you not allowed to break rules just once. Most everywhere else in life you're allowed a second chance.

Edit: I didn't read the TOS my first day on Neopets either. They also sometimes change the TOS, then post it in the news that they did so. If you don't read the news, how are you going to know the rules changed?
