i just unequipped an item from my pet, and then the item went to my inventory, but it was still on my pet as well... aka now i have 2 of the same weapon...

i sent in a bug report already, but is this just me? and this happened around last month, but i just didnt feel like posting it

Nothing happened when i tried. Must just be you, or that paticular moment when you did it O_o

This is a somewhat common bug. Sadly the reverse is even more common(you get no item). Contact TNT. DO NOT sell or use the extra item. Either stash it in your SDB, or leave it in your inventory and hopefully TNT will fix it up. TNT could freeze you if you sell it/use it.
