I looked now at an English-Portuguese dictionary n then i discovered that "Leek" is translated as "Alho-Porró", so it has Alho on the name too! So it should be no problem to feed it to your pet to get the avatar. It's no glitch, or at least i don't think so!

It has been suggested before although it might be considered cheating the system.
