This happened to me once. Really scared me. It appeared that someone liked what they saw in my shop and tried to guess my password. Then because I had listed my real name in my user lookup and that was extremely similar to my email account name, then tried to guess my email password. When I went to my email account, I got the message that my password was being guessed too many times and I should try later. The nasty account grabber didn't succeed, but it made me change a few things.

So here are my suggestions:

First do a lost password request.

Then, go to your email for that account and see if you can get into it. If so, change your password and your secret question. Then see if your lost password request is there. If it is, then no one got into your account--or if they did, they weren't able to change your email address.

Then, the second the time limit is up for retrying on your Neopets account (I believe that it tells you the number of minutes before you can try again), use your password to get into your account. Once in, change your password and if, like me, your name has anything to do with your email name, change it. I put a fake name in--Can Knot Tell. Also, check to see if the email address is the same--if someone got into your account, it is possible that they tried to change it.

And, write to Neopets to let them know that it seems as if someone was trying to access your account. That way, they are put on alert.

Also, I notice that you have your msn name listed on your PPT lookup. It is quite possible that a person saw this and tried to access your email account--either by guessing your password or your secret question. Hopefully, they weren't successful.

My advice: take that off of your lookup immediately. If that is the same email address that you use for your Neopets account, you are asking for trouble by posting it. Non-PPT members (lurkers) can see that info--and apparently, there are a lot of slimeballs around trying to get their jollies by breaking into people's accounts. Once they access your hotmail account, it is quite easy for them to see if you have any emails lying around from Neopets, which have your user name on them. Then all they have to do is request a lost password, get the email from Neopets with it on it, and, then, they are in your Neopets account.

If you want to give your msn or aim name to anyone here at PPT, you can always do it in a PM. Or, you could create a separate email account just for your msn.

I hope that this has not happened to you. But, I felt it necessary to present a worst case scenario.

Thanks alot for that info. I changed my password and I have noticed that I have just lost 20K from my bank :( But i don't think I need to change my MSN from my look-up... It seems it has got nothing to do with Neopets...
