10 minutes - finding a decent picture
10 minutes - making the ava
15 minutes - making the sig
5 minutes - searching for quote for subtext
5 minutes - uploading and posting

so in total: 45 minutes...

yet if i'm doing requests and i have a lot pending, i work faster and just put on a really simple subtext :P

lol!! ROFL!! I can put together a great set in less then 20 minutes..

I prefer anime since they already have backgrounds usually... i hate to work with neopets images as they're just the size for the ava and it's border to border.. so usually my neo sets turn out worse..

I'm glad that you can crank out what you call a great set in under 20 minutes, but it's rather inconsiderate of you to laugh at people who put extra effort into their work.

It depends on the picture and what I'm doing with it. If I'm trying something new, it could take quite a while. Like Kim, I'm horribly picky as well. A set can take 30 minutes to 3 hours.

It depends...It normally takes me at least an hour to make a decent set, up to four hours if I really want it to look good, and even more than that if it has animation.

My current set took about three hours, not to mention the 20 minutes or so of searching Anime Lyrics to make sure I'd gotten the subtext right :P

It really depends..

If I have to take out a background and I want it to be super perfect, it takes me, maybe, 15 minutes or more to do it by hand.

The easiest hard part (get that?) for me is the background, so that takes about 5 minutes, give or take. I am very picky the other details, so, I guess about 5 minutes looking for good fonts and placing text.. could be more, though. Avatars take me under five minutes.

Total Estimate = 30 Minutes or if it has to be super perfect, longer.

It depends on how long it takes to find a image, and put it all together and whatever else I'm doing. i'm going with 10-20 minutes.

Depending on the subject and what I want to do, it can take a half hour to two hours (plus any additonal time to find a subject). I'm very nitpicky on what I want to do and it has to be perfect.

(note that I will not count this set because there was very little editing and did it in less than 10 minutes ^^;)

Anywhere from 20 minutes to 3-4 hours. (Though I haven't made any sets in ages.)

Roughly an hour, most of the time. I used to be able to take the sets out by 30 minutes each, but in my old age (lol) I've gotten more picky about the saturation, and how it matches, and that the sig and the avatar MUST match. Takes me forever. I'm also picky about font effects.

For me it's totally random. I used to spend about 30 mins on a set, but lately I've been trying to improve my sets and been spending an average of about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.

Of course it all depends on the image... Neopet items , for example, are much easier to work with since they are small, and you don't have to edit the picture.
Photographs on the other hand...

I always find neopets images hard to work with. You get that big empty space where the image dosn't fill it up, and have to make a background ect.

Normally, twenty minutes? But because my photoshop is screwy, I have to handraw pixel text, and I do the animation layer by layer, merge by merge (if its a fader, I literally spend about one hour just merging each text layer onto the base) So I try to avoid animation, purely because I'm to lazy to download the Image-Ready-thing

well, to me, it depends, cause with some images - you know EXACTLY what you will do, but sometimes you get images that really make you think

erm, from bout 30/45 minutes to about 2/3 hours

I can throw some together fairly quickly, but once in a while I'll take time to do a good job with it ;) I get sick of messing with GIMP at an hour, so after I have the picture how I want it, I just add text. :P
