I'm a fan of nintendo consoles, I loved the N64 and I play my gamecube all the time. I have a PS2 as well but it's kind of just sitting in the corner gathering dust. I don't really play Gameboy or any other pocket consoles so I can't really judge which one I like better out of those.

Well each has their good and bad points.

Sony - Probably rules single-player games and the PS2 has the widest selection out of the major consoles. I do think for the most part, Sony has the upper hand on the console market.

What it lacks is great multiplayer capabilities.

-------------------

Nintendo - Definately owns the handheld market. And the GC has the best variety of multiplayer games (probably the most fun multiplayer games as well).

What it lacks is great single player games and more mature and darker (as in "not bright") games (thought both are rapidly improving)

-------------------

Microsoft - Is the powerhouse for graphics and owns the online market (no matter if with computer or console) Contains many great First Person shooter games (though so does the PS2) and XBox live is a great addition to the online gaming community

It's flaw is the lack of quality games, it has just a small handful (literally) of great games.

That is a perfect description, My playstation is always on stand-by, all my other systems are back in the states with my grandma which is a SNES and a NES, I have a N64 but I only have two games for it, plus it's not at my grandmas, it's in storage somewhere. I have a GBA but in never gets played unless I go to my grandma's or on the road for a long time. When I get a PSP it'll be played as much as my PS2 but a little bit smaller.

Sony rules when it comes to the amount of games available, but the system itself is obsolete, the Gamecube can handle one gigabyte of power and the X-box comes really close to it. The Gamecube specializes in characters we all know and love, from the blue bomber to the italian plumber. They don't have any real Halo-tpye games, but they're still going strong. And X-box... is pure evil! I don't mind microsoft coming in to compete with the combatants, but they came in to eliminate the competition! Owning the net not enough for you. Mr. Gates? I'll never forgive them for taking down Sega!

Sony - PS2 = Good. Its the platform for most anime games too.
Microsoft = Bad. Its the platform that buys up the good developing companies than doesnt bloody utilize them. It also comes out with somne fairly wicked games. The graphics are good too. Somehow I don't feel like supporting microsoft XD
Nintendo = Get off your arse. I wish they would stop it with the Mario games, I go to the game store and gamecube is lucky to have its own isle. The graphics are also nothing fantastic. I thought right at the release time of the three, nintendo should of scrapped the gamecube and come out with something better. They also never come out with enough games at a release.

<3 I love Nintendo! Even though Sony has the games with better graphics and more maturity, Nintendo gave us many "original" games, such as Pokemon, Harvest Moon, I belive Secret of Mana was one of the best Action RPGs (In its time of course. :P) And of course, the beloved Mario charactors...

Exactly what he said. :) I prefer the PS2. It's got good games with good graphics and to play games online you don't have to pay anything extra (like Xbox Live) and you need broadband so you don't get people with 56k modems lagging.(Gamecube).

I've played PS2 and Xbox, and even GC once or twice. I'd have to say that I prefer PS2 by miles, but it also has it's weak points.

PS2 (PROS)-
*Games that appeal to a very wide audience
*A heck of a lot of games
*Best controller (usually overshadowed, but by God, does the PS1/2 controller pwn GC's and XBox's)

PS2 (CONS)-
*Only two controller ports (I know you can buy the multi tap, but why waste $40 for something your not even going to use that often?)
*Not as powerful as the Xbox or Gamecube
* The disk tray is kinda sucky. Too easy to break with little kids in the house.

XBOX (PROS)-
*A lot better (graphic wise and powerwise) than PS2 and GC
*Halo. 'nuff sed
*Xbox Live
*The few really good games that it has, truely do kick butt.
*Has a cool green X in the middle

XBOX (CONS)-
*Supports communism
*A really annoying controller (I just can't stand it, even the mini version)
*Not that many truely noteable games
*Owned by the evil Bill Gates
*Not really that many kiddie friendly games (but thats cool since it's meant for a more mature audience)

Now, Nintendo is a kinda touchy subject here for me. The GB, GBC, GBA, etc, are all really awesome. I mean, pure genius on Nintendo's part. The GC, I didn't like so much. It's good, but it just feels like it belongs in a Preschool. The controller is tiny IMO, annoyingly small. And the N64's controller gave me blisters. Nintendo don't have a very good history when it comes to making comforatable controllers.

However, the games are all awesome, even if some of Mario's adventures are over cliched. But a majority of their games are meant for little kids (Not all of them, but the majority). Around where I live (even among the little kids), GC is the sort of console that you don't wish to get, but if you do get it, you're not dissapointed. Around here, PS2 and Xbox lead the way. It's just that kinda town for some odd reason 0_o

Well that's my opinion anyway.

The ps2 got a redisigned so it''s now a filp top like the orignal ps2. Unfounetly Nintendo better not be depending on it's old charicters to keep them alive.

I have nothing against people with 56k modems, until they try to play any game online. Then it's 'snipe-happy time'

Don't get me started on AOL though :P

Well, I've only played the PS2 and Gamecube, but I like the cube better. While the PS2 has more variety, the games on the cube just seem better. If you want dark, you just have to look a bit. Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil 0 were both pretty creepy and gorey. I also really like their party games, like Mario Party and Super Smash Brothers: Melee. You don't have a constant file going, so guests can just sit down and play.
