XD! If you look at the book Eragon, you can also find many similarities between it and Star Wars.

O yeah? I've read Eragon, no similarities....was i not looking?

There's TONS of similarities.
Protagonist living with his uncle, finds a mysterious artifact. Goes to see a wise old man about it. The artifact reveals a hidden secret. Soon after, the uncle's house is destroyed. The protagonist must go on a journey with the wise old man (who gives him a weapon) to find a rebel base. On the way they meet a male companion with an attitude and resuce a female person who is important to the rebel cause.
And that's just the beginning:p

You can go to your local book store and pick up just about any book and find tons of similarities like that. All heros have to have a rough life/strive to prove themselves. They all need a weapon, they all need a bad guy to fight, they all need accomplices, ect. So really, Star Wars isn't the base here, the base would be the first story ever written about a hero, and let me tell you, that was written long before George Lucas was born

Mweh. Anything can relate to anything if you try hard enough. I mean, nobody else can relate... everything... to Pelennor, LOTR in general, and Braveheart... but I can. Eragon steals from... everything... so it's not surprising. Not that I'm insulting Eragon- it's a good book.

....Book 7: Voldemort:Harry, I am your father!
Harry:Noooooooooo!
Nobody ever mentioned seeing James and Voldemort in the same place.
(note:I know there's a million things to prove this wrong, I'm just joking around
