A Scotsman went to the dentist and asked how much it is for a tooth extraction.
"$85 for an extraction, Sir" was the dentist's reply.

"Och... huv ye no got anythin' cheaper?" replied the agitated Scotsman..

"But that's the normal charge for an extraction, Sir" said the dentist.

"What about if ye din't use any anesthetic?" asked the Scotsman
hopefully.

"Well it's highly unusual Sir, could be quite painful, but if that's what
you want, I suppose I can do it for $70," said the dentist.

"Hmmmm, what about if yer used one of your dentist trainees and still
without anesthetics," said the Scotsman.

"Well it's possible but they are only training and I can't guarantee their
level of competence. It'll be a lot more painful too. I suppose in that
case we can bring the price down to say $40," said the dentist.

"Och... that's still a bit much, how about if ye make it a trainin' session
and have yer student do the extraction and the other students watchin' and learnin," said the Scotsman hopefully.

"Hmmmmm, well OK it'll be good for the students I suppose. I'll charge you only $5 in that case," said the dentist.

"Now yer talkin' Laddie! It's a deal" said the Scotsman. "Can you confirm
an appointment for the wee wife on Tuesday?"

Hehe. That's awesome. It also sounds like something my dad would do...(minus the accent, of course.).

*shudders* I hate dentists' offices. They're too...clean.

Yea, because that's how we all talk up here in Scotland.

Now, I'm off to toss my caber, in my kilt, and to burn all my pounds because we use the '$' now.

But apart from that, it was a good joke.

Although it is a very stereotypical accent. I have to point out that when I visited Scotland last year, we Americans could barely understand what was being said by locals through the very thick accent.

Of course this is just underscoring how we Americans have no accent whatsoever. Especially those from the Baastan (Boston) area like myself. Now I need to go find a pahking space. :P

I'm finally back for the summer, although hopefully I'll spend a little more time away from this screen.

Ok, so this Scotsman arrives in America. Sick of being mocked by Americans, he heads up to Canada. In Canada, he feels much more welcome and makes good friends with a few locals at the pub.

On his final day, he turns to his new mates and says

"Lets go Moose hunting!" (with a thick Scottish accent naturally)

The Canadians figure "what the hey, it's his final request before heading back to Scotland", so they head out to the woods.

They sit for hours until finally, a great hulking Moose walks into the clearing. One of the Canadians hands his rifle to the Scotsman and says

"You wanted to come hunting, so you can have it..."

The Scotsman, white with terror turns to the Canadian and in a hushed voice says...

"Jeez laddy, if that's yer Moose, I'd hate to see yer Rats..."

Yay for bad jokes! :P Coincidently, I'm 1/2 scottish. Though I don't have a Scottish accent :( Stuck with the Kiwi accent :(
