Not really. Most kids think they will win no matter what, and dont think about losing.

I was 9 once... 9 year olds don't always think they'll win...

Besides, that's a great age to learn to accept defeat and learn you don't always win...

That's what being immature is.

dont feel to bad dawn she'll get over it. They always do. Believe me I'm the oldest of six kids.

Dawn, if it is bothering you (which it must be doing or you wouldn't be writing about it), then you must feel that you did something wrong. If so, you should apologize to your friend's sister about it. At least then, it is out of your system and not eating you up about whether or not you did a bad thing.

Alright... I apologized.

She's not usually as immature as she was that day. She's quite bright really... I've never seen her burst out in tears like that. But I apologized. Morningstar is correct- I haven't been writing because it makes me feel bad. Which is why this post isn't going to be so lengthy. But I did apologize, and I feel better about the issue. And she forgave me. But now my friend is looking at me like an alien or something but that doesn't matter to me.

Thanks for all your help!

Thats good. :) I knew it would all work out.

Awww...don't feel bad Dawn. The little kid probably didn't even take it seriously, just started crying to get attention because she was a little angry and upset. It was good of you to say sorry though. ^_^

Thanks for clearing that up. :)

NINE YEAR OLDS ARE EASY TO MAKE CRY??? No. The majority of 'em are pretty tough, this coming from a ten year old. But a lot of nine year olds are easy to make cry, and it's not really your fault... I mean, what did you do? Just apologize to her and maybe play with her properly (as someone else said). And I resent that nine year olds are ignorant! They aren't. I mean, look at me, I'm newly ten, leaving grade five tomorrow and I'm not ignorant, lol.

And nine year olds aren't really "little"... It's... Condescending to say that.

Many apologies for my insufferably strong, evilly expressed opinions!!!

It's all subjective. Three year olds think they're so grown up. I remember turning the "big seven" and thinking "what an important birthday it was!" But if you asked an eighty year old, they'd laugh if you said nine-year-olds aren't little. Depends what you are comparing it to and who. I remember wanting everything my way at nine... but I still do heh. Some things just don't change. :D

I'm glad you apologised Dawn. She seems a nice kid from and maybe something else was bothering her. And I hope that whatever it is that makes you feel bad about writing goes away if possible. Writing/typing is the only way PPTers can communicate. :(

I don't think nine is little, and I haven't been nine for years.

But I remember being nine. My last few months of being nine were hard, because thats when all the insecurities started for me. So maybe thats whats happening to her. Or maybe she was having a bad day.

It doesn't sound like you were in the wrong, Dawn. Apoligizing was nice though because it shows that you care. :)

But you can at least agree that not all 9 year olds can be as independant and articulate as yourself. And when put under direct pressure from people alot older than you who you are trying to impress, it can be quite frustrating for people of any age.

Aww, don't feel bad Dawn. I know tons of 9 year olds who are very sensitive.

Thu Jun 24, 2004 1:43 am

I really do not see why some kids are so sensitive. When I was 9, I wouldn't start getting all upset over something as minor as that. I didn't care if it was someone I looked up to or not.But then again, I don't look up to anyone.

It saddens me that something like this could happen. I'm sorry if I sounded rude, but I'm quite opinionated. I don't want to use this an excuse, though.
