McCain lost Pennsylvania and Ohio, so no matter what happens in other states, it will be mathematically impossible for him to win the election. You heard it here first :)

YES.
The only thing I regret is grasping my reaction about 10 seconds late.

Hooray! This is way more exciting than when Stephen Harper won the Canadian federal election two weeks ago!

That was a waste of time and money. Thumbs down, yo.

Anyways, I want to be part of a political mosh pit!

These will be interesting times we live in. It is, indeed, time for change. I loved his speech- it will be long and difficult, but we shall get there. Bravo.

He had my vote twice. I really cannot find the right words to how I am feeling. Talking with my friends and family, including my African-American uncle, we are all in the same place. I hope this turns out to be a great thing.

Yes we can.

I was on the backstage headset for tonight's rehearsal, and I had one earphone in from my radio giving them updates. After the announcement I was like bouncing up and down.
People are randomly showing up at the White house now. This is crazy. It's big. It's weird. I'm glad I got to be part of such an intense election.
And I extend my sympathy to our McCain supporters out there--the battle was long and hard. And it hurts like none other to see someone you've pinned your hopes on come so close, and miss it by a hair. McCain was a worthy candidate, and though I did not want to see him win the presidency, I can appreciate the reasons why one would support him.

I'm very proud to have supported Senator McCain and the only regret is that more Americans didn't share my conviction that he would have made an outstanding President. I not only recognize, but respect that we are a nation in which the people choose and tonight they have chosen Senator Obama. He was not my choice, but he will be my President and I will pray for him to lead this great nation with God's help and grace. He will face serious challenges to lead our country and he will need all Americans to give him a chance.

The campaign is over and now is the time for governing and leading. The Republican Party must now reassess where it is and where it is going. Our problem is not that our views aren't acceptable, it is that many in our party have abandoned the very principles that once drew Americans to trust us. Our party will be back with strength, but tonight we should all celebrate the historic nature of this election and put our country ahead of our party.

As disappointed as I am that we have lost the election, I can't help but feel that many courageous leaders of the civil rights movement look down from heaven tonight with a smile that the day has come when a man is elected without regard to his color. I salute President-elect Obama for his discipline and tenacity that has given our country the opportunity to witness this significant event.

Politics is not an event but a process. We sometimes lose the events but it never gives us the right to stop being faithful to our principles that enlisted us in the process. We shall live to fight another day.

I disagree with virtually everything Obama stands for, but I hope he does a good job as President. I'm optimistic about the future :)

My entire family; aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, siblings, etc all voted for and supported McCain. It was so frustrating during the campaign to be the only Obama supporter. They made fun of me like crazy.

I slept through all the counting tonight though. After the 2000 election I have no interest in watching.

All I will say is that I am disappointed at the result of yesterday's election. Don't want to turn this into a debate thread ;)
