I just lost my 10 year old cat a week ago. I had no idea that he was sick. I came home and he was dead. It was heartbreaking.

I've a history of dead pets. All of them are the cold-blooded kinds. I had a gecko named Al back in Texas and drowned him because I put in too much water. (Oops.)
Multiple dead fish due to my inability to clean their home/overfeeding.
Two turtles dead last year. I was unable to feed them. It was creepy when I went down and saw that one of them had no eyes! It was sure of a sign that they've died, but my mom didn't listen until a few months after. XP

I lost one of my cats back in november last year, we put her down because it wasn't good for her to keep on living. She was about 18 years old. She had arthritus, kidney failure and a few other things that we decided not to find out. I still expect to see a lump in the curtains where she loved to be in her whole life. Our other cat is 17 and we don't think he will live much longer. He has diabities, sists and goodness knows what else. He is also extremely dumb because he got brain damage when he was young

Before those two we had loads of cats that kept on dying by being hit by cars. Those two both got hit but survived. The other cat we bought with the first one just disappeared never saw it again. The only memory of the cats before those three was when the last cat got hit by a car. I can't even picture him, I just remember him dying.

-_-' Right, I'll take your advice with as much sarcasm enthusiasm as I can muster.
I didn't "grieve" for them as they didn't really do much so there was no bond.

I deny your logic and counter with my own logic of animated clay detonations. How do you feel when you step on an ant? Remorse or relief that one nuisance is down?

Honestly if you're not connecting with what you own, then I really do not suggest that you keep purchasing more pets. I have owned lizards, turtles and fish for years. They do have personalities. They do bond. They learn to recognize you as their care giver.

My turtle Phil is well able to realise when it's supper time. He also knows who he doesn't like (My brother) and he hisses at him. My tortoise Hobbes would follow us around and would bunt us if she wanted food.

My fish will come to the tank and will wait for me to feed them.

These animals do have personalities, you just need to learn enough to recognize them. What you speak of unfortunately, not realising how to feed your animals properly speaks of serious neglect. Your pets died because you did not properly research and care for them.
