Just recently got into widgets and was wondering... which are the best/your favourites? I'm loving the analog clock, great for restocking, and would love some more but there are too many to go through so... hope you guys'd help out. Maybe.

My computer is a little too slow to really have more than a couple running at a time, but I really like the default weather one and a sticky note one that I downloaded. I love how you can change the level of the window to put it on your desktop.

I'm not a big widget guy myself, however you might want to try this to find some good widgets to use. The list should be sorted by number of downloads so it'll give you an idea on which are the most popular. I know big downloads doesn't always equal good product, but that's what the member reviews are for :)

Another site you might want to check out is http://topkon.ning.com; I'm not sure how old the page is but they have a list of the top 50 widgets.

I despise widgets with a passion.

I hate them. :@

See, I never turn my computer off. I always make it hibernate.

But with widgets running, it won't hibernate.

Also, they make my computer run MUCH slower.

No, there's a program for Windows called the Yahoo! Widgets Engine (was Konfabulator before Yahoo! <s>ate</s> bought them). It works the same way.

Personally, I love the widgets. The only problem is they run slow on my comp, and I have Google Desktop Search with the sidebar, so I already have that sort of thing. However, with my new notebook I'm getting I might not use GDS (although it works great) and just use Y! Widgets Engine).

My computer never let me hibernate... even before widgets, just stand by.

I find it makes no differenence to my computer speed, well it obviously does but not enough to... anyway.

So... I'll just stick with my clocks then! I suppose.
