I have THE worst cold :-(
I have a stopped up nose that stings AND itches, and a throut thats KILLING ME!
I swear I can't ever get a normal cold. I have to get a weird mix of strep throught and a runny nose.
That, or I get a mix of runny nose, dieria, and the stomach flu.

Here, if you plan to hug...Wear this. *hands out plastic anti-germ suits*

Seems we all need some hugs today. Good think I bought hugs in bulk the other day. *hugs* Make sure to sleep if you get tired and I would suggest drinking a lot of orange juice. It can blow even the nastiest of colds away. ^_^

I wouldn't drink soda to get healthy in any sitution. Drink some water, if your cold is really as bad as it is you'll probably be very dehydrated.

Eep. I'm sick too, but at least I don't have what you have e.e

For evil throats, Dr. Pepper is THE best. Some people say hot coke, but Dr. Pepper is waaay better. Dr. Pepper-like things like, Dr Thunder as you said earlier, are great, surprisingly... Especially decafinated versions, so you can actually get to sleep.

And injera helps a bit with runny noses (dunno why) when you eat it, with chickpeas or something... plus it stays down easy. But it's hard to get injera anywhere that doesn't have other ethiopian foods, which are VERY spicy and pretty bad for sick people, unless you get only vegitarian stuff... so if you manage to find a shop that sells it, wonderful, but otherwise it's just gonna make things worse.

Also: Dairy products are EVIL for cold sufferers. But we all know that... I think...

chicken noodle soup?

I tend to drink lots of tea when I'm sick, because it helps my throat somewhat. and I sleep a lot. and if you eat/drink something that's mildly spicy - not spicy as in burn-your-throat but as in a-little-bit-of-heat-after-awhile - then it helps me. although if your throat's sore, that's probably not the way to go.

I basically eat a lot of liquid-y foods because they're light on my stomach and help keep me from getting dehydrated. and hot showers make me feel better for a bit, or a bath, because of the steam.

get better soon :(

Things I must have when I'm sick:

7-Up (I drink Sprite on a regular basis, but when I'm sick, I have 7-Up)
Chicken noodle soup
Rainbow sherbet (though I'm growing out of that and moving toward fruit sorbet or Italian ice)
Club crackers (the yummy buttery Keebler ones)
Orange juice or Apple juice.

Get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids, use Carmex or Chapstick to keep your lips from getting cracked and sore.

I've found ginger ale (normal kind, not raspberry/cranberry) helps when I'm sick. Chicken noodle soup is a traditional thing, along with various juices. Sherbets and other non-dairy frozen treats are good, but I perfer the heat of something like soup or tea. I can't comment on anything with caffine in it though...caffine actually makes me sleepy, not jittery.

I swear I just wanna be better! I ate nearly 24 ( a whole box) of fudge sticks.
In one day.

Good thing they are fat free...

I'm in the middle of a second nasty cold in a row, so I can definitely sympathize. I find that a good cup of hot tea works wonders. Hope you feel better soon :) .
