My mom has an HP laptop, and I hate it soo much... We've had all sorts of problems, and it's so incredibly slow. Before this Dell, we had custom-made one, and before that two Macs.

I don't have a favorite brand. The last brand we had was a sony and it was okay, but the case had horrible ventilation and got way to hot. Luckily everything held up okay, but there were times when it was probably about to burst into flames. Now, my brother just buys everything and builds it custom. It's much easier than trying to find a system with everything you need.

I don't particularly like Apples, but I'm stuck with them because that's the computers that my school uses :( I like Dell's a lot but I have an HP and I think it's alright. I've always considered Compaqs and IBMs as OLD computers, even though they are still coming out with up-to-date computers :P

Right on! Ditto. You can't beat custom-made.

Linux is only an OS.

The one I'm using is Packard Bell, and it's a bit rubbish. The ones at my school are Dell, and a local company in my town. They are both good, but I like my toshiba laptop as well. It's so fast. But I voted dell.

Almost all of our computers are Dell computers, so Dell, I guess. We used to have a Compaq though.

Well, Compaq merged into HP, which is why I put them as one option. I hate Compaqs, but I like HPs. XP

Yeah I know, I didn't think that through very clearly, but it was mainly coinciding with Macs since they only have one OS on there computers anyway.
