1) Space is infinite. There is nothing outside of space. If you keep travelling in the same direction as space, you'll end up at your starting point. Hence it's pointless to do so.

If you end up in the same point you started, space is not infinite. (Alternative nitpick: if you're traveling in the same direction as space at the same speed as space, you aren't moving relative to space and will always stay in the same point (relative to space) if no forces act on you. If the speeds are different (you are moving relative to space), go back to the main sentence.)

Now, if you could go in the same direction "forever" and not end up at the same point, it just might be infinite (or simply incredibly big).

That makes sense :D

Another question:

When things are deleted where do they go? I'm sorry but the thought of something just disappearing without a single trace doesn't seem right. Like when you delete something off the computer. What about a document 500 pages long? How can that just disappear with a single mouse click? Surely it must go somewhere.

EDIT: Actually, I was curious so I looked it up. Things aren't really deleted, you just can't see them anymore. They're still there. Just like when chalk is rubbed off a chalk board. It's still there, you just can't see it. Makes sense.

For the computer thing. Using a special program you can recover files unless they've been written over like 50 times or something. Like tip-ex.
