I learned that, despite seeing it as a festering, crime-filled dump, Detroit is even worse than I imagined. Intense hockey rivalries don't really help that opinion.

I learned that there are no major chain grocery stores in Detroit proper. If someone can't get out of the city to buy groceries, almost all of their options for food are convenience stores or fast food. I knew that grocery store access was a problem in poorer areas, but I didn't know the extent in Detroit.

I learned that while the fingerings on a tenor sax are nothing hard for me, I have a smurf of a time getting that reed to make a note that isn't offensive to the ears.

I learned that the Nat Turner rebellion occurred in Virginia in 1831.
I learned that the Seneca Falls Convention occurred in 1848.
I learned that there were panics in 1819, 1837, 1857, and 1873.
I learned how to say the nationalities of people from Spanish speaking countries.
I learned where to put the accent marks in the words for the nationalities.
I was studying for finals!
I also learned that it's December 14th, and my phone bill was due yesterday.
I also learned that I have $60 in the bank, which isnt enough to pay it.
