You're so tempting me.

I really like the look of this site, and I got paid yesterday *is tempted*
I'm just worried about buying one and not liking it.... I think I'll read the reviews of most of them.
But hey, you might know one personally that would be good. I like fruity/sweet smells. I like the smell of vanilla but I don't think I want to smell distinctly like a cake (people might eat me).
I really do think I'll get something from here, I like the idea of having a signature smell that no-one else (that I know) will have
My best suggestion is to just read through the reviews. Then you can usually hear good and bad things about the scents and get a feel for what they really smell like.
Some suggestions from what I've tried:
Snake Oil (Ars Amatoria)
A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla.
Dana O'Shee (Bewitching Brews)
milk, honey and sweet grains
Xanthe, the Weeping Clown (Carnaval Diabolique)
Guava, orange peel, white pepper, spun sugar and apple blossom.
Zarita, the Doll Girl (Carnaval Diabolique)
white carnation, iris, orange blossom, and sugared cream.
Kitsune-Tsuki (Diabolus)
Asian plum, orchid, daffodil, jasmine and white musk.
Drink Me (Mad Tea Party)
cherry-tart, custard, pineapple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast
Eat Me (Mad Tea Party)
Three white cakes, vanilla, and red and black currants
Cockaigne (Wanderlust)
milk and honey, sweet cakes and wine.
If you like vanilla, I would definitely go for Snail Oil. It's so delicious. It's one of my new favorites.
Dana O'Shee is pretty good. It smells like oatmeal and honey. Xanthe has a sweet, fruity scent. Zarita smells like an orange creamsicle. Kitsune-Tsuki has a really pretty, soft, fruity flower scent. Drink Me smells like a delicious dessert, somewhat cakey. Eat Me reminds me of these berry cookies my husband's family makes. Cockaigne smells like a yummy dessert.
Those are all General Catalog. Sorry for the short summaries, but I haven't worn some in a bit, so I'm going off memory.

Um, Jas? If you do get Inferno, be careful with it XD I put some on the back of my neck AND IT HURTS
But it's still awesome.
I read that in the reviews. I think I still might chance it, though. XD Worst case, I could always use it in a scent locket or as a room scent.

On another note, the big Yule update was just posted along with Marchen (the Fairy Tale section) going live *and* a limited edition series based on Wind in the Willows. So many new scents. I've got to remember to get any Halloweenies I was interested in because they're coming down next month before getting distracted by all the new smellies.
Some new scents from the update I'm interested in:
Prunella (Marchen: Prunella)
Ripe purple plums, wildflowers, and cream.
The Miller's Daughter (Marchen: Rumpelstilzchen)
Spun gold, tear-soaked straw, and rose-infused amber.
Serpants with Glittering Eyes and Forkey Tongues (Marchen: The Sparrow with the Slit Tongue)
Serpentine green herbs, glistening red currant, sparkling yellow lemon rind, green musk, lime, and snakeskin.
Butter Rum Cookie (Yule)
A boozy addition to the devil's bake sale! Rum-soaked butter cookies, crusted with sugar, soaked in almond and garnished with orange rind.
Gelt (Yule)
A bounty of chocolate coins! Dry cocoa and golden amber!
Lick It Like You Mean It (Yule)
Peppermint candy cane with an extra jolt of sugar.
Lines Written Among the Euganean Hills (Yule)
Skin musk, white sandalwood, balsam fir, frozen black berries, cedar, winter rose, and white amber.
Rose Red 2008 (Yule)
The perfected winter rose, dew covered and freshly cut.
Snow Bunny 2008 (Yule)
Soft white powder snow with a touch of youthful girlie perfume.
Sugar Cookie 2008 (Yule)
Affectionately nicknamed 'The Devil's Bake Sale'.
All They Had Seen, and All They Had Lost (The Wind in the Willows)
Mist and dewy roses, aspen leaves, and translucent yellow blossoms.
The Gaoler's Daughter (The Wind in the Willows)
Gardenia, neroli, and white peach with vanilla amber, cream, and honey.
You know, just a couple scents.
I bought Snow White last year and I really liked it, but I don't think I need more this year. I've heard a lot of praise for Rose Red, so I should probably try it. The Marchen are General Catalog, so at least I can wait a bit on them and concentrate on the limited editions. I'm excited to see what stories/scents will be added in the future. :3
