has anyone gone for one?
coz today, i went to the school dentist and the guy said that i'm missing a tooth and he has to do a deep canal treatement on another...
i'm scared...
Will it be expensive?
coz currently, i'm caught in the middle.
my father says i'm crazy. He forbids me to go saying it's expensive. *the last time he went, he had to pay close to a $ 100 to get his wisdom tooth pulled out. Judging by this, he thinks they're out to get money...So he won't let me go
I personally don't care becos the hole in my tooth doesn't bother me. But now, i've been thinking. Should i go?
Coz if it costs a lot, i don't think my parents can afford it. As it is, i'm already thankful to be able to get pocket money for misccellaneous stuff like movies... 0:)

If it doesn't bother you now I don't think you'll have to, at least not right away. once it becomes painful you should get it treated.

The cost depends on how much work they have to do, but usually costs around/over $100.

before getting worried about what's involved and the cost, I'd make a checkup appointment with your regular dentist, and get his opinion and the estimate for the costs involved. And some dentist exspecially your own can offer alternatives or whatever if you cannot afford the procedures or even payment plans, or whatever. you never know really until you go see them.

I agree with BeDeviled-Sometimes, school nurses/physicians exaggerate your ailments. The school nurse told me I needed glasses when I had no trouble seeing in daily life, so I went to the eye doctor. He said that I didn't need them at all and should come back in 2 years.

I've had Four teeth pulled, 2 fillings, and braces. Not all at the same time. Yes, it will be expensive.

You're a lucky one then. I thought I would be in the same boat as you until 2 years ago when I had to get braces.

The only real dental surgery I've had done was getting my wisdom teeth extracted. I can't remember how much they were since insurance covered most of it, if not all.

Like someone else said, the cost isn't the most important issue, your health is. If you don't get this procedure, you might develop complications that would need more surgery. Get more than one professional opinion on this matter to determine what's best for your teeth.

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

Well, I'm like both Chris and Paul, actually...I had four teeth pulled out and braces stuck in, but it was all for free since I live in the UK and the NHS pays for it...

But yeah, I agree with SpiraLethe -- your health's probably the most important thing in your life.

Anything with the word dentist is expensive. Anything with the word surgery is expensive. That's double expensive >_<

Hold onto your seats people... the SL is back.

I say talk to the regular doctor first and see what he/she can tell you. Maybe it will cost alot, but at least you won't have to worry about it in the future.

My teeth are horrible, belive me, I have to get 1 or 2 more fillings, I have a few cavities and I need braces badly. Also, my teeth are all growing in different directions and I have one extra tooth (I think). I don't like to smile either because of that, my smile looks ugly! I'm going to the dentist this summer to get my fillings and other stuff done so I can get braces. *sign* This is going to take a while.
