What are Your Pet Peeves??

Thu Jun 03, 2004 5:27 am

Well actually I've made this topic before, hopefully in the right place and here it is again:

We all have little quirks that tick us off that others may laugh at. What are yours?

Why'd I put this topic up? Because I can.

My pet peeves:
--when there's a book near my elbow when I'm writing I get all frustrated
--when things are on the floor and they're all scattered. It makes me feel unclean.

...strange, eh?

MY DIRTY ROOM!!!!
....

Yep.

I'm also really ticked off by people who dont know the meaning of the word "respect". And people who say things about God that arent true. And my aunt believing animals have no souls and they dont go to heaven and HUIWHFIOWEFHIOWER...!!!!!!

Know-it-alls..

I think I got the basics..

-Hair in my food :!: I hate it....
-People who think they are better than others
-Carless people (as in not caring about whats going on around them - and also who they hurt)

-Things not in order, especially if something needs to be alphabetized. It's a sickness with me. ;) lol
-When someone is supposed to be doing something and they are just sitting around, going too slow, or waiting for someone to tell them what to do. My husband does this all the time and it drives me *insane*!!
-When someone says they don't like something and they haven't even tried it.
-When someone says something against my religion and they don't even take the time to find out about it.
-Dishonesty and sneakiness.
-Unfounded prejudice.
-When someone takes/touches/uses something of mine without asking first.
-When people demand/expect me to gives them things just because I'm a generous person.

That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there's more. ;) lol

Spelling mistakes. Just bugs me, and I have no idea why.
When people crack their knuckles...*shudder*

Thu Jun 03, 2004 6:43 am

People with stuff round their mouths. I can't stand it. I'm constantly wiping my mouth with a tissue when I'm eating just to make sure I don't have anything there.

I agree on this one, spelling and grammar mistakes annoy me to no end.

- People who drive slower than a turtle without three of its legs on the fast lane, there's a reason why slow lanes were created.
- People who walk slowly and in big groups, they totally block hallways and there's no way to get around them.
- People who chew with their mouth open.
- People in class that don't pay attention when the teacher is explaining things because they're talking and then expect the teacher to explain everything all over again.
- When dogs have an ear flopped up and the other one down.
- People who understimate me

I'm not much of a people's person :D I'm sure I can think of a lot more things.

-Fangirls
-Screaming raving rabid fangirls (OMG IT'S TOM FELTON I MUST SHRIEK WITH GLEE 'CAUSE HE'S SO HOT!)
-Keys on your keyboard popping off
-Netspeak (also known as chatspeak)
-1337
-People are stupid enough that they must be part of a different human sub-species, where they evolved from rocks.
-TyPiNg LiKe THiS
-typing like this; i don't understand why you can't use the shift-key
-Cats stepping on your keyboard
-Stomach-aches
-Bad movies/books
-People who use 'it's FANfiction' as an excuse for writing Mary Sues, bad fics, etc. Yes, it's fanfiction. That means you're a fan, which in turn means you should have enough respect for the original creator to not write something as bad as that.
-'kthnxbye'. More like 'kthnxdie'. I hate that phrase.
-A million other thinks that I don't have the time to mention.

I forgot that..my dad messes with my computer ALL the time. (downloads stuff, reboots it,shuts it off, closes windows) And it drives me mad! He never, ever asks! I think I'm lucky to have him even ask to get on it..we(me and mom) tell him to ask before he does stuff all the time but he doesnt.

- When dogs have an ear flopped up and the other one down.

Whaaaaaaat?! Its sooooooo cute!

Cats stepping on your keyboard

My kitty does that all the time when I am eating something she wants. I think she knows this pushes my buttons bad..sometimes I end up surrendering a bowl of cereal with 1/3 of it left.

I've got some more

--The feeling of a seatbelt. Makes me feel nauseous and cranky.
--Having dirt under my fingernails.
--When people don't say "Thank you" when you help them out. I usually say "Your welcome" in a irritated tone and they look like me like I'm an idiot and don't deserve a thank you. Ugh.
--Mismatched colors

I just realized today my biggest pet peeve. I was sitting in my desk during finals, and the two guys behind me were whispering...or trying to whisper. I absolutely can't stand it when people try to whisper, but they're still really loud. I don't know why, I just HATE it.

Thu Jun 03, 2004 9:05 am

Ohh you people reminded me of some more...
- People who eat with their mouth open
- food around the mouth or stuck between the teeth
- chatspeak / New Member ... basicly the neoboards...
- and as mentioned, taking things without permission. Its considered stealing and I see it way to many times... (at home or at school)
- staring at someone too long

Thu Jun 03, 2004 10:53 am

I just remembered some more pet peeves. :)

-When people are done eating and they lick off their dish.
-When I have something super good and want to get every last bit and lick my dish and someone calls me on it because I always complain about others doing it.

;)

Lets see...

- Brothers
- Thieves
- Metal Scraping
- Sand
- People pulling my hair

That'll do for now.

Yeah, I share all of those pet peeves. I'll add on a few...
-People who pass me, but then slow down.
-People who don't use turn signals when they really need to (like when they're turning and I'm right behind them!).
-People who talk on their cell phone while they're driving.
-People who drive two feet behind my back bumper.
-People who leave their brights on when they pass me (or when they're behind me).
-People who skip over 4 lanes of traffic to get off the expressway. Idiots. I don't care if you didn't know where the exit was. Go to the next one and turn around!
-People who don't listen to me the first time I say something, so I end up repeating myself 4 different times 'til they catch on.
-People with a major attitude problem
-People with no respect for their elders, their peers or for people their junior.
-When my parents take my dirty laundry from my room, intending to wash it, but actually end up stacking it somewhere downstairs. I lose track of clothes that way.
-Selfish people.
-People who honk at me when I don't turn right when there's no traffic coming...even though there's a sign that says "No turn on red."
-People who diss the HP books because they thought the movies were bad.
-People who are afraid of innocent little bugs...like cicadas...they can't hurt you!
-People who run the air conditioning, but have their window or door open.
-People who wear their backpack really low and then complain that their back hurts.
-People who don't pay attention in class, and then claim that the teacher can't teach properly.

I'll think of more later, probably.
