Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

I check in the forums almost everyday, or when I can. Today is the second time I've checked in today, and noticed another user posting spam.
I'm not a moderator, nor am someone who knows the inner workings of PPT, but I think that Moderators have to manually delete the posts. (forgive me if I am wrong)
I know I haven't been around for a long time here, and immediately after I joined, didn't go here for a few months. But, is there anyway we can stop spam? I know CAPTCHA is a nuisance, but we should do something about this. Perhaps use CAPTCHA only when a user signs up, or if anyone else has an idea, to implement that and use it to help control the spam.

For as long as there exists the hacker, there will always be spam. It's just something we cope with, all the while upping the security to catch and disable it.
Let it be known that no system is fool proof. PlayStation Online being shut down and in the process of recoding is proof of this.

Maybe they're so bored with the forum that all they can do to amuse themselves is spam

Must be the new "lite" Spam.

I have seen spammers who don't post but will decide to put spam as their location, occupation, website and interests on their profiles thinking if they don't post they won't get noticed. Also sometimes their profile is in Russian instead of English.

You sure the story you heard from the gate guard was not just the same story? Maybe the gate guard just is late to get some bad info? After all........hes security forces.
