I just received a call from the college I've been hoping to go to, and I've been accepted!
This is the best day of my life. Seriously, I'm just going all over the tubes and telling everyone. This is incredible.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Still, I find the idea of having to be accepted for a college rather odd. Here, you just finish your highschool and go to college if you want to.

Congratulations!
College is the best 4 years of your life - I know people say that, but it's true, it always is.
If you keep failing classes, you can probably stretch it out to the best 7 years of your life.

Congratulations! It's a great feeling to know that you're in at your top choice. I hope it's everything you expect and more.

Huh? Well, that's what it's like here (only going if you want to), but you have to apply to each school because most have more students who want to go there than there are spaces available. How is college entrance handled where you are? Does everyone who gets a certain mark on a test get in? I know that a lot of places have career tracking earlier than the U.S. (i.e., at the secondary/high school level), so I guess fewer students "qualify" for college. There's a wide range of programs available to high schoolers here, but the county or city usually decides what programs there are (vs. a national school system), so colleges can't (well, don't want to) discriminate against students who don't have as much opportunity. That's why admissions are usually based on high school grades, a standardized test score, extracurricular activities, and essays.
