We're not on fire [Here's why] - A thread to Thank Jasujo

Tue Dec 02, 2008 7:29 am

First off, we must have cake and balloons, which were generously donated by Google, as if it had a choice. I heard from an anonymous source that Jasujo accidentally set that last cake on fire. So, I lovingly made her a new one: Yay. New cake!

[Random blurb about me]
I joined PinkPT around January 2005 [or so my profile informs me]. I was fairly active until October 2006 [from what digging through my posts suggests]. Then, I left and came back around March 2007 and I’ve dabbled in and out of the forums ever since. Throughout that long period of time, PinkPT has definitely changed. Some people have moved on to other things. Others have stayed, helping shape PinkPT into what it is today and what it might be in the future.

[Here's the main part]
When I left, Jasujo was merely a moderator, but her impact was there. I remember Kym, as our amusing forum leader. I remember Twizzler0171, as this bright bubble of friendliness that floated around the boards, who was then merely a member. I remember a lot of people before they started to take more responsibility and start taking leadership positions. Where was Jasujo in all this? Even though she was more quiet than her fellows, I always remembered that she was a friendly personality, who had her fair share of jokes and laughs. She firmly did her duties as moderator. It is to no surprise then that I came back to find her an administrator. As an administrator, one’s duties are undoubtedly not to let havoc, chaos, and fire run through the boards. I think by the fact that I am actually able to post this here today that Jasujo and our other administrators have done wonderful jobs. However, Jasujo doesn’t merely do the bare minimum her job requirements. She takes the time to get to know the other members. She is like the mother of the forums. While I knew the administrators were dutifully running the forum behind the scenes, I never actually saw them all that much. Jasujo was their face and a wonderful one she was and still is. She works daily to keep the forums running smoothly. Despite all the hardships, I know she always has a smile on her face and a cheery aura about her for all the members of PinkPT. She’s been through rough times in PinkPT and she’s survived it. Therefore, today, I would like to thank her for all the wonderful hard work and dedication she’s devoted to the forums all these years. We took her for granted all this time, but, now, it is her moment to be recognized, wouldn’t you say?

I would also love to express my appreciation for Jas. She has done so much for this forum! During events, she hosts the majority of the events, and gives away a lot of the things she has worked hard for and a HUGE amount of her valuable time to make sure that we, the forum members, can have an enjoyable time here at the forums. Not only that, but she gives her time up for us all around the year. Many of the simple things that we enjoy here at the forum have been because she has spent time looking things up and thinking of things she thinks we would enjoy.

She's not wonderful just as an admin, but as a person as well. Back after I rejoined the forums after the big crash, I would see her post up huge giveaways for no reason at all. As I have gotten to know her, I realize her giving nature is just part of who she is. She is always willing to give someone a helping hand whenever she can. She is one of the most caring people I have ever met, and I love it when she is happy.

Jas, I want you to know how wonderful I think you are. :) I am proud to say that you are one of my best friends, and I really hope that this friendship will last for my entire life.

D:

But I like being on fire. Seriously, it's what we send to Head Office at work every morning with our batch reports:

Batch Reports - Felix on Fire as always!

I'm not quite sure the auditor appreciates our daily reminder of how awesome our hotel is, though :P (That said, we met budget this month so now the CEO is taking us all out for drinks.. ;))

I'm so happy to see a post like this! :)

I agree with everything said in Syrill and Twiz's post, Jas is just so amazing. She has done so much work in the past few years to make this forum what it is. She's always got new and great ideas and is constantly working to make this a better place! Her hard work and dedication are amazing. I know the job can get stressful sometimes, and she still doesn't give up. I don't think we could ask for anyone better. *hugs*

As Twiz mentioned, Jas is the same away from the forums. She is such an amazing friend. I know she is someone I can go to when I have a problem, she just knows how to make everything better. I love talking to her, because she can always put a smile on my face. :) Jas I love you! <3

I was just telling Jas last night that I felt she did an amazing job here. Its easy to recognize what someone doesn't do, or doesn't do in a certain time frame, but when you're not there watching people work, its hard to know exactly what they really do follow through with. This is something I learned hands on when I worked overnights, everyone would complain about what we didn't do, or what we messed up, but they never thanked us for what we did do. I'm glad someone posted this, because every once in a while, you have to step back and tell someone thank you for the job they do. Jasujo is always thinking for the best of the forums, she may not always give you what you want, but she will find a way to compromise if possible. There are several times I've come to her with ideas for Pink Ink, and shes said no, but if you have another idea, come back and talk to me. Or shes said, we can't do that, but we can do this.

Its just not about what Jas gives, because we all know that she gives without any thought of selfishnes, but sometimes its about when she has to say no, and instead of getting mad, you treat her with the respect she has earned by saying yes and working with you from times before.

Yes but that doesn't have anything to do with this. We all know you work hard at your hotel, its kinda hard to forget. :P

Jas is well aware of just how lovely she really is. :)

Regardless, you're all best buddies, no?

I think its nice to have an administrator that is not afraid to get to know members of the forum, and become good friends with them. Instead of getting to that status and being like nope, i'm above you, I'm better then you, and I don't care what you think.

XD I seriously choked on my water and almost died. :(

I'd like to thank everyone that's posted up. This was a very wonderful surprise to come upon. I do not see a problem with friends telling each other they appreciate them. In fact, I don't think people do it nearly enough. :)

I'm very grateful to all of you and I'm glad I know such wonderful people. I've been having a rough time lately and this has definitely helped brighten things a bit. <3

Thank you very much! ^.^

Ditto on what everyone's said about Jas.

She's pretty much the most amazing admin ever. :)

I would like to agree with everyone else. Thanks for all the hard work put in behind the scenes and not worrying about my silly mistakes.

Xil, my respect for you has gone up dramatically since you posted on this thread. I would have PM'd that to you, but she would have read it anyway.

Get back on topic. Respect for Xil and...whatever Alex is talking about aren't on topic for this thread.

If you have a problem with any administrator, the appropriate course of action is to address it directly by contacting Kym with your concerns.
