Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

This year, for whatever reason, my school's student government decided they want to have a homecoming parade during the homecoming game this year. This is the first year that I've been at the school that we're having one (and I'm a senior!). Every grade and all the major clubs get to have floats. The theme for the floats is supposed to be "Destination Vacation" and each class gets to choose a place. I'm president of the business/technology club at our school, and since our national conference is in Dallas we've chosen to have a Dallas/cowboy/Texas-themed float.
But here's the catch: It has to be on wheels, and it can't be on a car. (We have some sort of special track that you're not allowed to drive on. It's like Olympic quality or something.)
So right now my officers and I are at a lost as to what to build our float on that can move as well as maybe put a person or two on it. Anyone have experience building floats and have suggestions? Also the lower we can keep our budget the better.

When we made our senior float we used one of those really long flat-bed trailer-type things. They're easy to build on and can either be hitched to a vehicle or just pulled if you have a few buff people willing to put in some hard labor during the actual parade. Just a thought, hope it helps! Best of luck! =)

Yea people at our school usually use the flatbed trailer things...except the actual homecoming parade is usually on main street, and they do a few things on the track before the game....but then again our school is broke and poor and really could care less about cars on the track lol.
Hope things work out for ya'll
