Monthly Art Competition

Fri Aug 15, 2008 2:22 pm

Original Thread

Hello to our resident artists :) We are introducing a new monthly competition for all of you!

Each month there will be a different competition for members to take part in. Anyone is welcome and highly encouraged to participate!

The competitions will change each month, rotating between visual art, written art, and performing art. Participants will have approximately three weeks to submit your entries. The last week of the month will be a voting period in which other members can select the work that they think is the best

To get the competition started, we'll have a vote on which competition will start!

You can choose between:

1) Hand-drawn art
2) Computer graphics
3) Poetry / Lyric-writing
4) Short story
5) Musical performance (can be audio or video)

If you have any suggestions for future competitions, please feel free to shoot me a PM :)

Oops, I misvoted. I meant to say short story (which is winning anyway.) I'd totally take a shot if that were the case.

I do not have an artistic bone in my body whatsoever, but I'd love to see the monthly art competition revived :)

I must admit the fact that short story is winning makes my eyes boggle with sadness.

That's 'cause lots of us are scared you'd win.

Does my misplaced vote count towards what I meant to vote for? @_@ Please?

I'm both mortified and rather proud.

*buffs nails on shirt*

I live off the terror of others.

Not to be pushy, but I'd like an answer to a question I have:
Tymaporer wrote:Does my misplaced vote count towards what I meant to vote for? @_@ Please?

I'd voted for poetry when I meant to say short story. I'm just asking. I won't complain if the answer's no.

The clear answer to this conundrum while taking Tyma's vote into consideration is a illustrated short story.

It has been considered and your vote for poetry has been removed and added to short story.

I guess it's a good thing short story didn't win: I was looking through old files on my computer and found this downright terrible one I had started writing for an assignment in the 8th grade. I broke into a fit of laughter (and tears) after reading the last line.
Me, two years ago wrote:“Who took the wish-granting teriyaki sauce?!”

Of course, I've gotten much better at writing short stories since then (in fact, the one I did end up submitting for that class was like, 1100 times better).
