Britney Spears performs at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards
Custody battle
Singer Britney Spears has been ordered to hand over her two young children to her former husband.
Los Angeles judge Scott Gordon said Kevin Federline should be given custody of Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James, until "further notice".
The couple had shared custody and the reason for the change was not given.
The decision comes two weeks after the same judge said the pop star engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol"...

Her own fault.

Those poor children. Out of the frying pan, and into the fire.

Exactly. I can't imagine putting any kids through what she has. Someone needs to slap her a couple times and make her wake up to what she's doing to them (and herself). Gah.
Sorry. Bad parenting is one of my soap boxes. I'll get off it now before I get too steamed up.

Hopefully, this will finally give her the kick up the behind that she needs so she can get herself sorted. I'm sick of reading about what a head case she is.
It's time the media concentrates on a strong woman for once.

Not a chance.
There's not a single shred of evidence that she can do anything on her own. Girl needs mental help, probably in the form of strong medications, and a support system that consists of something other than her hangers-on. And she needs to stop trying to be famous.
For what it's worth, I see her future as much closer to Anna Nicole Smith than anyone else.

It's one of mine too seeing as I've experienced it first hand, and really I just want to go and slap her. She needs serious psychiatric help and medication to help her, but she'll probably end up abusing it knowing the weird nature of her mind.

I'd be surprised if those kids don't don fake identities and leave the country in a couple of years.

But she can't get that support until she realises she needs it. She's run away from rehab enough times. Sometimes a huge shock like this makes people realise that they truly need help.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Like everyone says, I think they don't intend to take her kids away forever, they want to shock her into getting help. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you see you need to be climbing up again.

its her own blinkin falt!
when I read that article I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself. I cant stand her.
the only person I feel bad for is those kids...and how messed up they're gonna be someday.

No one is so bad that you should laugh when you read that their life is falling apart. I feel sorry for her, and I'll agree with anyone who says that she got herself into this mess... but I'm not even sure if she's mentally stable enough to get herself OUT of it. Quite frankly, she reminds me of my birthmother... that's not a good thing.
It's like watching a racehorse age... after they aren't in the spotlight any more they lose all sense of themselves and are left knowing nothing but how to run.
I trained a former racehorse that didn't even know how to walk uphill.
Very sad.

I laugh because they've tried to get her help...and she's done the vacation known as rehab. (which by the way she didnt stay at long...go figure). I'm not going to pitty her or feel the least bit sorry. If people are throwing help at you, and you refuse because you're too busy being dumb and drunk, then its your own falt. So I laugh, because I know that if she'd have listened to the rest of the world in the 1st place, she wouldnt be in this mess.

Well, I didn't laugh, but I did giggle.
It was pretty obvious from the very start what the outcome of her "happy marriage" would be.

Saying that Spears is nowhere near that bad.
