Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

That's right, Steve jobs invited a bunch of people to a special meeting later today, and many analysts are predicting that he's going to reveal the next iPod model. I already have a new one, so no matter how cool they might be, I'm not getting another...probably.
EDIT:See them
here!

Does the battery work properly?
Sorry, Apple product, what was I thinking.

I hope it is a new iPod, because my 1G nano is wearing out. It's hard to read the screen since it's so scratched up, and the battery life is terrible (lasts a little less than a week, and I'm using it maybe 2 hours each day). Apparently if a new iPod is released, it'll be like the iPhone, but without the phone, internet access, and a fully functional organizer. I also hope they refresh the nano line.

Until it has a cutting laser built in I'm not buying an Ipod.

Linux always gets left out. *patpats Ubuntu machine* Always.
I say Canonical release their own mp3 player!
My personal thoughts are, if it's not broken, don't fix it. The original iPod (and it's various incarnations) were uber popular. Why are they changing it? Because they know people are saps and are gonna buy it?

Essentially, that is consumerism.

Technology who's battery doesn't crap out five seconds after the warranty fails, requiring me to pay £50 I can ill afford to replace, actually.

Oh, I know.
Mine didn't crap out right away, but I've had mine for about 2 years, and now the battery doesn't even last five minutes.
Also, Ellancumber, I know, I'm not very fond of the Apple accessories such as iPods,, too much, I just love the computers.

My iPod started being stupid right before the warranty was up, so I got a replacement. I've had that for about a year now and it's still fine. I'm considering getting something bigger, because mine's full. Also I'm still jealous of the fact that now nanos come in pretty colours when mine's boring and white.
I'm currently debating if I should ask my grandparents for money or a new iPod for Christmas...

Why not just a new iPod?

Well, if I ask for money, I won't spend it on an iPod, I'll put it aside for uni (well, it'll probably end up going towards a laptop). I feel like an iPod might be a bit much to ask for -- they did get me my current one, and when they asked if I still use it and I said yes but was considering getting a bigger one my grandmother said maybe that was something they could get me for Christmas...but I do know that the normal budget for the grandchildrens' gifts is usually closer to $100. Of course, some kind of combination Christmas/18th birthday present is a possibility, though I do hate combined gifts.
