Reminds me of V for Vendetta
Britney Spears is back in the U.S., and she's sporting a brand new look.
Spears was photographed at the valley tattoo shop "Body and Soul" in Sherman Oaks, getting a tattoo reportedly of a pair of red and pink lips on her wrist. But the biggest change to the pop singer's style? She shaved her head bald.
Spears could be seen inside the tattoo parlor with her head fully exposed, but as she left the shop she was led by her bodyguard straight to a waiting SUV. Spears had her head covered with a hooded sweatshirt to hide her new noggin.
The sidewalk outside the shop was filled with fans, onlookers and paparazzi. Some fans that were interviewed after Spears departed declared the new look less than flattering.

Woah... well at least she's breaking a trend. I wonder how many bald 12 year old girls we're going to see pop up.

Well...there could be a few reasons for this. Perhaps she has some kind of disease? Perhaps cancer or alopecia like Jane Porter, another famous woman with a bald head?
Or maybe she IS just trying to start a trend. Who knows. It's certainly a trend I won't be following though and I cincerely hope that I don't find 12 year old girls walking around with bald heads!

I wouldn't be surprised if she got a tattoo on her head.
And honestly, I don't think she's the type who would shave her head and leave it bald if she had a disease. She would probably already have a wig and be wearing it.

That is so weird! Is that really her? Well, I guess I have to respect her courage. It can be hard to start a new trend. Well, I won't be going bald any time soon, but maybe people can have respect for people who are bald if Britney proudly displays her baldness.
Still there is a difference between people who have to be bald because of illness and people who choose to be bald to make a statement. It would be good if it became more acceptable to be bald, then people who have an illness or are bald wouldn't have to worry so much about how they look.
Still, some people don't look bad bald and some people have a funny shaped head or something, and it just doesn't look good on them.
I looked this up online and they said she was "going bald" as in she didn't choose for this to happen, but her hair was falling out due to stress. But maybe she got tired of fighting it, and just shaved it all off.

I'm not in the least bit surprised that the first post on ONTD (celebrity gossip community on LJ) with pics of her bald has now gone over the 5000-comment limit, and has spilled over to another post.
I doubt she did it for any specific reason- in my opinion, it's likely she just felt like doing it.
Kyra, I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing when I saw the pictures- after the initial 'wth', anyway.
She looks much different, obviously, but it actually looks alright on her.

According the news, Britney now has a mental illness.
what the heck? Just because she's decided to go bald? I dyed my hair pink once. Does it mean I have a mental illness? Sometimes, the media really makes me laugh.

According to ONTD (community on livejournal), there's a few rumors going around that she was apparently raped in a bar or something and thus decided to shave her head...

God shes really lost the plot hasn't she? Just hope she doesn't lose her kids over all this weird stuff, that'd drive her even crazier then she already seems to be.

I swear, everyday it's something new with her. Every week in the tabloids there is some new scandal about her kids, or her lesbian love affairs, or her drug problems, and now she shaves her head. I can't even begin to think what's running through her mind.
EDIT: I remember her when she FIRST started and she played at "A Day in the Garden" at what is now called Bethel Woods (at the Woodstock site). That shook Sullivan County, NY completely when she was there, as she was a rising popstar. But look at her now. *shakes head*
