Pet quirks

Sun Feb 11, 2007 10:58 pm

My pet is so weird. Every time I give her food or a toy, she goes and buries it away somewhere.

Our pets like to eat Refried Beans and goldfish!

Oh, the horror! :o

Sun Feb 11, 2007 11:14 pm

Flobo stares at me.
Insesently. For hours.
It's creepy :(

And Axalon (My Axalotl) swims in the most adorable way, wiggling his butt all over the place, not to mention that he'll spit stones at me on feeding days.

My cat is just plain weird. I can't explain why but she just is. I think it's because she's fat and cock-eyed.

Oh yes, my pets are weird.

One of my dogs, Chloe, likes to bite water when it's coming out of a garden hose. She also will literally eat any kind of food, except onions. My other dog Spike burps a lot.

As for my cats... Spangle is a fat lazy cat who will sit by the garage door until you open the door to let her go to the garage, even though we have a cat door installed AND she can go through it. What's odd though is when she does go through the door, she pulls the door over her head instead of pushing through it. o__O And the other cat, Princess, is the spawn of Satan (despite the name). She really is.

My Aunts cats don't love me at all. She doesn't speak english so they have really simple words like "Nice" "Happy" & "Kitty". They scratch and bite everything.

Freakin hellions.

When one of my cats sleeps in my room overnight, when he wants to go outside, his way of telling me is by burying his face under mine or tapping my face lightly with his paw. It's so adorable. He also refuses to walk up normally to his scratching post, he has to run up and attack it.

Another one of my cats is scared of basically everything and always hides his head under my arm whenever I pick him up.

I should point out that onions are poisonous to dogs.

And grapes, and raw potato peel (scroll to toxic compounds)

Heres what I posted on the kitty washing machine thread about my cat:

I'm the only one that can hold her (my mom can, if she's desperate enough for attention, even rarer is my sister being given the 'honor' of holding her.)

My cat likes to wait until whoever we have over goes to the bathroom, and then she'll sit outside the door, and hiss at them when they try to leave. (Ask Igg, she did it to her when I was busy in the kitchen one night)

She will hide under the furniture and hiss, spit, and claw at you as you walk by.

She sent one of my friends flailing over the couch and onto the floor once.

Another trick my cat likes to play, she'll wait til someone gets up (usually my brother) and she'll go and lay down really quickly on the chair. He comes back and just stares at her before whining to my mom to move the cat. XD

She also was boarded at my aunt's dog grooming shop for about two months when we first moved here. She would mew and ruuuub against the side of the cage and cry for attention. When my aunt or uncle came to the cage and stuck their fingers in to pet her, she'd attack them.

My cousin now refers to my cat as 'your tiger' and sees her as a 'challenge' he tries to wind her up more and more every time he visits.

My kitten goes absolutely crazy when we play with her with a laser pointer. It's so funny to watch. She can also amuse herself for ages with a toy mouse or just something random like a paper towel. Although I suppose those aren't really quirks so much as general adorableness. She also really likes feet :P
And our older cat will only eat kitten food

My cats like water from the shower hose..I take it down from the hanger, and when I go into the bathroom either Angel or Simon (both tabbies) follow me in, sometimes both, sometimes with Tommy, our siamese (or he will sit outside the door and watch)..Simon started it XD

Angel and I also have our own language sort of.. we squeak at eachother. XD And she follows me around and gets mad if my mom lays down on my bed. :p And Tommy likes to eat weird stuff. Vegan mayo, tofu.. and Angel likes spaghetti and plain corn. Jessie (another tabby, shes grey) used to use her back feet and spring off the wall but I dunno now.

Our birds like to shake their heads left and right really fast. Especially Jade, Cinnamon does it with her sometimes. XD And they like to get up on our shelf in the kitchen and go in and out the back of one of my mom's decorative plates.

Our dog rubs his butt against things when hes excited.. and when our bunnies are happy, and they're running sometimes they'll jump up in the air and it looks like they hover for a second xD

As for our pets who have passed on, my hammie Cassie would run so fast in her wheel she'd fly out of it, circle her house, and go back in. It never seemed to bother her. XD Sammy the cat used to go out and stand at the food dishes and go "RAWRRR" if they were empty. He used to love to snuggle, and he'd flop over on his side. Clay teh bunny used to give us kisses on our chin or noses. When I would get up to pee, and my first dog Jena was on the bed, she'd get up and take my spot. My moms cat Sarah used to sleep with her every night, and she'd lick my mom's arm. And she'd get to eat on the table (she was special, ok! xD) and when you'd take her her food, she'd chirp.

Poinsettias are also poisonous for cats.

My cat doesn't really have any strange quirks. I think her behavior is like that of a lot of other cats.

My cat loves to eat veggiecurry for some odd reason and he was sleeping on the ironing board earlier this week when the ironing board was in the lounge.
