Alright, so if you want a sterilized sponge put it in the micrwave for 5 minutes. Interesting, though it does make sense.

And it even says it could kill anthrax spores. I can see the alert on the news tickers now...

Wow thats pretty neat. I will actually start doing that. These little facts are really cool, helps us have a cleaner house :P

Wow! This is pretty cool. I developed a small phobia of germs since I caught this nasty flu-like bug a few years ago, so this is like music to my ears! Icky germs. Who needs 'em? Well, who needs bad germs I should say. We don't want to get rid of the germs known as good bacteria.

Haha, I love it. I'm seriously going to load my microwave with sponges one of these days. Oh but here's a tip.. never, ever put a bar of soap in the microwave. :P

Why? *is curious*

Also, never EVER EVER put hamsters in the microwave. I know it's tempting but...just...DON'T.

It expands and then explodes. It makes a huge mess and if it's a scented soap.. good luck trying to get that smell out of.. everything. And I don't think I would put a hampster in the microwave, though it is midly tempting. (Btw, did you get that from Joe Cartoon?)

Actually, it sounds quite fun! When we don't want the microwave any longer, that can be its leaving present! Yep ^^

Actually, I WOULD put a hamster in the microwave. But I wouldn't actually turn the microwave ON. I'd probably do it so I could take a photo or something. I remembered it from SOME cartoon, yes, but I don't know what it was actually called. Pretty funny seeing as it was only a cartoon and not a real hamster.

Wow, that is very interesting. I'm gonna have to start doing that. I'm sick all the time and I'm always looking for ways to get rid of the germs that are around.

It's old news for me, my mom has been doing that for months now :P

Well, it wouldn't start a fire unless there was foil or metal in the sponge. I think the idea is the sponges are breeding grounds for germs since they're always damp, and the radiation kills them.

Reminds me of the story in the early 1970's about the woman who gave her poodle a bath and stupidly put it in the microwave to dry it off (this is back when microwaves first came out). The woman freaked out and had a heart attack after seeing what she had done to her little doggy. And I know that popular urban legend sites say that it isn't true, but I was around back then. I remember reading about it in the newspaper.

Funny you should say that...

Microwave 'sterilisers' warning

Sounds good! But wouldn't it ... cause kinda stinky wafts from the microwave?

I'm thinking, the sponges at my place are slightly stinky already. Stink + water + heat = more stinkiness? (temporarily at least I guess)

Public holiday tomorrow. I might try it out :D

Another tip, try not to put grapes in a microwave.
It's pretty, but rather detrimental to your continued existence if your mother finds out.
