Writing utensils.

Which one do you prefer?

A blue ink fountain pen never lets me down.

Cheap black Biro, cos I'm always losing my pens..

I don't write that much on paper anymore but when I do I like to use a black pen.

Bic grips fine black pen only. I'm a stickler when it comes to pens.

Black gel pens. Or just gel pens in general. They smudge like hell, but I hate having to press down when I write with ballpoint pens. Gel pens make it easier for me to write smoothly.

I'm not fond of most blue inks, though. :/

Black pen or mechanical pencil. I hate using regular pencils, and I don't like blue pens, because most time the ink is too light.

Black fountain, ink, ballpoint, as long as it writes smoothly and feels right. Right now, my utensil of choice is a pink AIDs Awareness ballpoint (writes black) that I got from the local queer student union.

Blue ballpoint. I'm a lefty and they don't smudge as much as other pens.

Generally it's a bright purple pen, but sometimes I match my pen to my hair.

Mechanical pencil, unless I have to use ink, then I would use a black pen. I generally don't like pens because of their habit of not printing when I need them to, even when they're completely full (and then, of course, printing once again later that day).

Because I'm lefty, like Twinkle, I tend to smudge everything I write. Typically, those cheap Bic ballpoint pens would be ideal cause the ink doesn't smudge, but they're dry and unwieldy to use. My next best choice would be a pencil- I smudge that too, but at least I can erase both the paper and my hand. I prefer mechanical ones.

There's a way to write lefthanded without smudging - point the pen down and backwards (point back towards your wrist and elbow), rather than top of pen pointed back towards your wrist. It's hard to describe, but it's how my mother writes.

Anyway, I use a blue Gel Impact pen. They're my favorite, and I can expense them since I use them at work.

I use blue, by the way, because I figure it looks less like it's a photocopy; my serial-killer style handwriting should be enough of a clue, but it's nice to add that extra touch.

Mechanical pencil. I don't like using pen often because I randomly mispell words/leave out words/add random Es to the ends of words. And because I'm a perfectionist and can't stand it if I'm writing neatly and then my hands jerks or something and I end up with a line or blobby letter or something. So erasers = good. And I hate normal pencils because I write really tiny, so the lead needs to be thin or it just looks really messy. Regular pencils are too thick even when they're sharp, and they get dull really quickly.
Probably the one exception to all this is for my journal. For some reason, I always write in pen for that. As far as pens go, black ink is best, and it has to be smooth, but other than that anything's find. (then again, I haven't written in my journal since, like, september or somthing...)

Black ballpoint pen is my choice, especially for notes. I use a mechanical pencil for any homework that can't be typed.
