On December 12, 2006, Boyle died in New York City at New York Presbyterian Hospital after suffering from multiple myeloma and heart disease, said his publicist, Jennifer Plante. The Associated Press obituary gave his age, which appears variously in different sources as 71 or 73, as 71. He will live on in memories by his wife Lorraine and two daughters, Lucy and Amy.

At the time of his death, Boyle had completed the film Shadows of Atticus, and was scheduled to appear in the film Chatham.

I loved him on Everybody Loves Raymond, he was always one of my favourite characters and portrayed his part so well. I had no idea he was seventy-one, I thought he was much younger.
I know I'll miss him.
R.I.P. Peter.

So sad. He was funny.
I didn't think he was that old.

I didn't really watch that show much, but you MIGHT want to fix the title...

Anyways, I'm sad he's gone too. From the article, he sounds like a great guy.

That is horrible.

I loved him on Everybody Loves Raymond, he was such a wonderful actor.

He'll be truly missed. Words can't describe how horrible his absence will be. I feel for his family.

Everybody Loves Raymond was like the stupidest show ever, but I had been forced to watch it with my mom and grandma sometimes. He was the only one who was slightly funny.

I think I saw him in some movies. He was a really versatile actor.

71 doesn't seem all that old nowadays to die. R.I.P.

Maybe I just didn't get the humor. My mom kind of forced me to watch them with her sometimes so that kind of helped turn me off it.

71 really isn't that old at all, but heart disease will do it :[

Aww, so sad. I love that show. And I loved his wit and sarcastic humor. I feel for his family and friends.

You're not the only one, I can't stand Ray Romano. Peter Boyle & Brad Garrett were the only ones I liked on that show, from the few episodes I saw.
BUT Peter Boyle was awesome, I especially loved him in Johnny Dangerously. Rest in Peace!

I read about that yesterday... it's too bad. He was an incredible actor.

Caught me by surprise on the news yesterday. He was pretty much the funniest person on that show, and probably one of the few reasons I could sit through it. It's terrible to hear that he's gone now, I had no idea about his heart diease (they fully explained that and his past heart attack on the program, which I hadn't known about.)

R.I.P. :\

I was sleeping when my little brother heard about it on the news and he came and woke me up just so I could hear about it. It made us sad because his character on Everybody Loves Raymond (Frank Barone) was our favourite cause Frank reminded us of our dad. He played him really, really well.
At first I thought my bro was playing a joke on me cause I hadn't heard that he was sick before (and I was half alseep).

R.I.P.
