What's your singing range?

Sun Aug 07, 2005 4:03 am

Mine: (concert pitches of course)

The D almost two octaves lower than middle C, and the B almost two octaves above middle C.

Yes, I can sing high for a 15 year old guy =D. I like singing Tenor in school choir though, it's the voice I'm most comfortable with.

If you don't have an instrument to try it out you can just post high, low, medium or something. *shrugs*

(I don't know whether to put this here or in Abbey Road O_O)

O_O

You sing high.

I can sing down to F below middle C, up to B two octaves above middle C.

So.. just over 2 octaves.

Somewhere between "uncomfortably off-key" and "potentially fatal."

I think technically I'm a tenor, which is all I know, and that's for the best. If you hear me singing, it's because I've been taking slugs out of a bottle of rum all night and I'm trying to impress those girls in the corner who think I look like Mel Tormei's inbred cousin.

No idea, all I know is that I'm just a level or two too low to be able to get the high notes in a singstar game playing The Darkness.

I honestly have no idea, I just know I don't sound that great.

*tries*

I'm not such a singer myself, as my voice is generally weak once it gets past one comfortable octave range. :P

But my voice can reach the E almost two octaves below (before everything else turns into grunts), and the C two octaves above. I can squeak another C three octaves above middle (not often though; only when my throat is very clear), but that's not singing. XP

Jesus, you do sing high...

I'm an alto. I'm not sure exactly how far I go, but I think I can get comfortably to somewhere in the range between the C above middle C and the C after that one...and pretty deep as well.

Hm. Well, I can successfully sing almost every Evanescence song (Including holding the long notes) so I don't know what that would mean here though.

I think my voice is medium. I can go high and low though.

And even if I can pull of this off, it doesn't mean I sound good, even if I hit all the notes right on target.

...It's really creepy that the guys have such a huge range.

Forgot to say before. I'm a soprano, though I sing alto very rarely. I actually haven't measured how high I can go once I've warmed up properly, I just know I can get the B because it's in one of my songs :P

I have a range of about 2 octaves. It's nothing spectacular, but then I'm not a particularly special singer either.

I'm a soprano, but can do some alto.

I have no idea.
I just know my singing doesn't kill anyone when they hear it. :P

I'm not sure - probably alto maybe as I seem to be about the same as my mum though I'm a little higher. I'm too scared to sing though because all my family are fantastic singers :(

I screech high.

I have no singing ability at all. And back when I participated in choir, I also realized I have no range. They kept having to switch me between alto and soprano because while I can't hit the higher notes of soprano particularly well, trying to sing lower is very uncomfortable for me. A little painful and very awkward feeling. I just don't bother much with singing anymore. Supposedly my voice can be quite pretty, I just can't stay on the right notes anymore...

I can sing pretty decently, and I like to sing, but I have no idea what my range is. (I don't take any chorus classes, and I never sing in public.) Sometimes I sing deep, sometimes I sing high.
