Goin to New York

Tue Jun 28, 2005 5:26 pm

In two weeks, I'm off to Long Island on a midnight flight! I don't mind them, I'm usually up later than that anyway, but JetBlue airlines puts up the air conditioner full blast all the time so I have a feeling I'll be watching Animal Planet on their happy little screens till we get there.

That's one thing I love about travelling, I get to watch TV. There's only 3 channels at my house, and two are news. D:

In any case, I'm going to go visit my great-grandma who is turning 92 in August, and my aunt on the other side of my family is coming! She's incredibly artistic and musically inclined and whatnot.

Here's the two best parts.

1. On the night of the 15th, we'll be in Manhattan and will go to some sort of Harry Potter Party (in costume) at a bookstore.

2. Probably on the day of the 15th, seeing as that's the only day I know of we'll be that far into the city, we're seeing Phantom of the Opera on Broadway! :D That has me really, really, really, REALLY excited. Squeee!

And it's nice just to be around my great-grandma, she's cool. And not nearly as feeble as you'd think, considering her age and the fact that she's got a pacemaker. She also has a very cute pug dog named Fred who has some breathing problems and a very, very friendly attitude.

Ah, you're going to see Phantom of the Opera!! <3 Wow, have fun, have you ever seen it before?
The Harry Potter party (wow try saying that 3 times fast) sounds amazing. Heh, if only I could go to one, or convince my friends to have one with me.
Your great-grandma sounds very sweet as well. :)

She keeps calling me Betsy, though. I think it's just to get on my nerves, because she's not very senile >.>

Oh heck, you can find a Harry Potter Party at any bookstore that will be open then - which is just about any bookstore at all.

I've seen the ALW Phantom 9 1/2 times- at least, the Schumacher version. Not the play, which is supposed to be very different, so I look forward to it- though I did greatly enjoy the Schumacher film.

At Phantom of the Opera, don't stand up or you might get hit by Chandeliars :P

Hahaha, I would, but my suitcase doesn't even fit my stuffed dragon.

Or didn't, before Wolfie ripped her up... ;_;

No worries of getting hit by chandeliers, we're almost definitely getting balcony seats. e-e

Did someone say dragon? :P

Anyways, NYC was awesome when I went during Spring Break, but it was cold. I wanted to go see PotO, but we saw Rent and The Producers. Those two were awesome... At least, the parts that I was awake to see. xP

Oh wow! I'd never take a trip there though. Except maybe a return trip. Guess you can say I live in LI and in NYC.

Have fun over here! (And it's going to be quite hot..)

That's one thing I don't like about New York... See, I have really frizzy hair, kind of like Hermione's, and if I ever go someplace humid (or more humid than Colorado, which is easy) it suddenly EXPLODES into an afro-looking thing.

Haha. Well, some people here, have afro-looking hair-dos. It's pretty humid right now; several days of T-storms just passed.

*shniffle* I will miss you, Eo! HEY, wait a second...you still have to draw Duke! Well, have fun in NY, I've never been, but want to go. Oh well, I went to Canada for my vacation...

You'd better draw Duke...*shakes fist at you*
