I'm sure all of you have had problems with being unable to fall asleep, even though it is very late and you need to wake up early the next morning. What do you do to get yourself to fall asleep? Share your tips with everyone!
(Oh and counting sheeps never seems to work)

To get to sleep I:

Well, I have a CD that sounds like the ocean, and its very calming, and when I can't seem to fall asleep, I put that CD on quietly and it always helps. Also, there is a technique that my mom taught me. If you tense your toes, then your shins then your thighs and so on, up you entire body, that relaxes you. Hope I've helped!

I stop trying. I go downstairs for a glass of milk or whatever, have a walk about and then read a book until I drift off.

I always have trouble getting to sleep, and now the weather isn't helping (humid, 25 C). What I usually do to get to sleep is stay up unitil 2 am reading or watching Doctor Who, but I don't have much of a problem dragging myself out of bed in the morning.
The counting sheep thing is so you have something to do besides go to sleep. Playing music and reading have the same effect, I would suggest doing something besides trying to get to sleep, anything else really.

I don't sleep.
I feel better being up all night than if I get 3 hours sleep.

If you know you can't sleep, just do something useful; write something, read something, draw something, even make one of those scoobie thingys.
Also, if the reason you can't sleep is that you're worrying, write down your worries on a piece of paper and put it outside your bedroom. It helps
Drinking warm milk around half an hour before you go to bed can help too.
Having a hot bath around an hour and 3/4 it suppose to help you, because of the rate your body cools down or something.
Try to wake up at the same time each morning (unless it's the weekend - then you might need to catch up on sleep or something). It's not as important to go to bed at the same time, just to wake up so that your body can adjust.

Stare at a screen, specifically those connected to computers and televisions. This will make your eyes tired, which I've found generally makes the rest of my body feel tired.

I tend to not sleep at night, just from 8 am to 2 pm usually.
I stretch when I'm trying to sleep.

Watch TV.
I fell asleep many times watching TV on Saturdays, so that works for me.
..or I just try to not think.

For me, just trying to relax seems to work. xD Ya'know, counting down from 100, ect..
The one thing that doesn't work at all for me that I've seen alot of people suggest is reading a book, because I could stay up until morning reading one, and not want to go to sleep until I finish it. o_0

That reminds me...I read in a magazine once that doing one or two simple Yoga positions before you go to bed is supposed to relax you.

Get something in your room that makes very subtle or white noises (like an analog clock or a fan.) I've found if you can get a rhythm going, start counting in your head (it doesn't have to be to a certain amount, just enough to get you distracted)
