No lie. I just heard from my mom. I was at work all morning and it was sunny so my mom thought she'd put the rabbit in his run. Thing is, when she put the rabbit inside, my dog, a Jack Russell Terrier (they're actually bred to hunt rabbits) ran inside the rabbit run too. She and the rabbit were nose to nose, eyes upon each other. My mom shouted at my dog and she then went into the enclosed part of the run. So then my mom had to lift the run up to get the dog out whilst holding the rabbit too, because the rabbit would have escaped otherwise.
I'm glad I wasn't in my mom's shoes, that's all I can say.

My rabbit's very lucky. And so is my dog. She'd be punished for sure! Nah, she wouldn't really. After all, it's in her nature to hunt and kill rabbits.
Hehe, yeah, it was funny XD

Awww, poor bunny! Sheesh, that's a really scary thought about your bunny...ack!
My brother's friend's dog ate his rabbit once. It was really sad.
But I'm glad the bunny is okay! And hopefully it won't happen again. *pats bunny*

Ginger, I have a question for you. How do they co-exist? You would think that the carnivore would be attempting to eat the carrot-eater on a continual basis. Is one of them an indoor animal and the other an outdoor animal? Or does the bunny live in a cage with the dog constantly laying in wait--sort of like Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird?

Well my dad is a keen carpenter. He made the hutch and the run and made sure that my dog could never get inside either of them while we were away. We've had the rabbit since September 04 and this is the first occasion in which a matter as serious as this one has occured. My dog is an indoor animal though and spends most of her time upstairs. My rabbit stays outside. She only tries to get the rabbit while we're outside and when we're outside we can keep a keen eye open. Of course, we will be EXTRA careful from now on so all is good. We've learned from this experience.

Wow, your rabbit has quite the life. A hutch and a run! I was a bit confused. Because I have never heard of a rabbit run before--but have heard of dog runs. Nice to have a dad who is a carpenter.
And nice that the dog did not eat the rabbit. Because I bet anything that my Australian Kelpie would have--maybe not eaten it, but at least thrown it up in the air a few times for fun. She is the boss of our backyard. Anytime she is let out, she runs at full speed and barks at all of the squirrels/raccoons/birds to let them know that it is time to leave the yard--or else get trounced. Then she sits like a statue and waits for them to return.

My dog ate my hamster when I was six.
...
this brings back traumatic memories.

I'm glad your bunny's ok.
Aww...your hamster? That's horrible!

I used to have hamsters, I'd get so upset when they died, but they died from old age (I believe), I can't imagine how I'd have reacted if my dog ate them...

Oh, that had to have been so terrible for you. Hopefully you were not a witness to the event.

No. I seem to remember that I was in my room when I was informed.
I do remember screaming at my dog though. But since he thought he was dominant over me... (I was six, and he was a super dominant dog), I also remember I didn't have much of an impact.
*shrug*
I'm not a rodent person anyways.

You tell us your dog ate your hamster and then go and say that. You're so cruel XD

If this happened to me, I'd probably be shouting at my mother for not being responsible and careful with an animal. But it didn't.
So I suppose I can just hug you, or actually I prefer to pat people on the head (which isn't really relevant to this), and tell you to tell your mom to be more careful next time.
*pats*

*Raises an eyebrow*
I sincerely hope, that that was a joke.
