Not very important...

Sat Jan 01, 2005 12:38 pm

Well, something my parents said to each other made me realise something really strange.

I haven't done my GCSEs yet, and my dad said, "I have a feeling that she'll get better marks than any of them in her GCSEs."

"They" are my brothers. My eldest brother got five A*s and four As, and my older-youngest brother got five A*s and five As. *headdesk* Thanks for saying that, dad.

So I need time to study. I have a while until GCSEs, but I don't want to disappoint my parents. Which is why, after the holidays, from the 6th of January, I'll be a lurker, coming on only now and then, not really posting.

Thanks for reading, and I hope I can come back later. :)

the exams themselves are fairly easy.
just dont utterly mess up youre courswork like i did.
twice. (im starting to lose my rag at GCSE maths here.. oh well, got the english one last time, and we can work on history and geography next time)

Wow, that must be very hard for you >< Me too, I haven't done my GCSEs yet (Mocks coming up and I haven't revised, how dead am I? ;)) First of all, best of luck to you and a big hug as well  uh..and cookies XD *gives cookies*

Secondly, whatever you do, just give your best and don't stress yourself too much. Make sure you get enough of sleep and let the panic run through you before you start doing the exam, you'll feel better. :)

Awwww. *pats* Nothing I can really say except for good luck. I'm sorry that's no help. :/

Sat Jan 01, 2005 2:25 pm

-hug- It's terrible to put that kind of pressure on someone...-hug again- Good luck! Try not to stress about it, just prepare as much as you can and do your best.

Hey, don't worry about it. Get your coursework done to your best ability and you'll fly through most of the exams. Good luck! If you need any help with English/Music/Business Studies/Maths or R.E. I'll help you as I got A's in those (except Maths but I'm studying it at A Level). You sound well clever anyway so just try your best because that's all you can do.

Don't stress over them too much or procratinate like I did. Was near to a nervous break down...

Oh Liv. I am doing my GCSEs, I'm in year 11 this year, and I've naffed up my coursework so badly. As in I haven't done it and I have a mad rush and I don't know what I'm going to do *breathes*

I think your dad was trying to be encouraging, though.

Oh, and I have an uber-bright brother who already has one A* under his belt from Year 10 (we're triplet yadda yadda) so while there's competition, kinda, I'm resigned to him kicking my arse at everything.

Sat Jan 01, 2005 2:42 pm

Igg, get it done!! Seriously, I ended up doing 6 pieces of English course work in 2 weeks. It was... horrible... *shudder*

If you need any help, I'll be glad to give you a hand. :)

Sat Jan 01, 2005 2:47 pm

I'm doing it right now- I'm doing the easy bits first, the typing up of stuff I have in rough. Here's my list of stuff I should have handed in last term. *ulp*:
Chemistry Coursework (done!)
Physics Coursework
1 piece of maths coursework
English poetry essay
English short story

And things that need to be handed in almost as soon as we go back:
Drama Review final draft
First Draft of 2nd drama portfolio

I also have to do...4 art sketchbooks. Oh kill me now.
Seriously, I'm having trouble repressing the hysteria.

Sat Jan 01, 2005 2:50 pm

Ah, I got A* in my drama courseworks. Obviously what we're studying is completely different so I'm not sure if I could help you with those...

I could find my old ones out if you want to use them as a template.

Sat Jan 01, 2005 2:58 pm

Actually, that would be really useful if you can. We looked at some old courseworks at school, but I could use with looking again for a template. That's if you did Edexcel (or however it's spelled) drama, anyway.

(and incase anyone starts, it's not copying, I think it's safe to assume that Twinkle did her coursework on something different from me).

But what I really need you to do is to find my half done maths coursework that we started in year 10 that I seem to have completely lose :(

Sat Jan 01, 2005 3:07 pm

You could always redo it but better if all else fails. Might as well rather than wasting your time on finding the old one.

Sat Jan 01, 2005 3:17 pm

Aye, well I can have any one piece in when we get back, and we have 2 bits in total so I'm working on the other. Gah.

Anubis, aren't you in Year 8 like me?

And don't you do GCSEs in like...3 years? In year 11? :P

Whoaness, don't scare me! In year 8 I was still pretty much like a mushroom (I have NO idea where that came from) and still testing out the subjects...it was until last year (year 10) did I start becoming pretty serious (but still loads of procastination and laziness!). Chillax ^^ I'm sure you'd be fine :)
