For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

I used to play this one with my sister, can't remember the name anymore; we got it off one of those "activity kit" type toys that come with a booklet and a bunch of odds and ends.
Anyway, here goes:
Roll 3 1d6
By using simple maths, get as close to 21 as possible without going over. You can only add, subtract, multiply or divide.
edit: I realize you have to post twice in a row, once to roll and a second to make up your formula.
Example:
[dice]upxwtpybfz[/dice]
[dice]auucqodshy[/dice]
[dice]ghickhlbkf[/dice]

Eep, trouble with the dice codes! Anyway, the example is as follows:
Example:
- Code:
[dice]bmdmwgggpc[/dice]
[dice]dhrycdfcwq[/dice]
[dice]uqsluqjedk[/dice]
let's say you get a 5, 3, and 4
on your succeeding post, you place
5*3+4= 19(because 5*4+3 is over 21 and so on)
Anyone want to play?

Surely you can just edit the formula into your post?
[dice]nuawjpmdzp[/dice]
[dice]whjpnbthfc[/dice]
[dice]cfmpfburvh[/dice]
Uhhh 5 + 6 + 6 is 17..?
I don't really understand how this works on a forum..
Sat Nov 01, 2008 1:35 pm
I think I got it...
[dice]lzqcnfbdiy[/dice]
[dice]cdhckiyhlz[/dice]
[dice]glrtngrtrc[/dice]
Edit:
3+4=7
7*3=21!
Sat Nov 01, 2008 3:37 pm
Hmm... Let's see
[dice]xsbumilhim[/dice]
[dice]tnstijibcs[/dice]
[dice]ewbvmdkyoi[/dice]
3*(1+1)=6
Sat Nov 01, 2008 4:12 pm
Mmm... 6 isn't really close to 21, now is it?
Let's give this another go.
[dice]xslsrqozel[/dice]
[dice]ilomdsqtzy[/dice]
[dice]hqsfqmfglc[/dice]
(6*3)+3=21
Edit: This is too easy. Is there some way to make it more difficult?

[dice]bmdmwgggpc[/dice]
[dice]dhrycdfcwq[/dice]
[dice]uqsluqjedk[/dice]
o_o
Well, anyway, 4*4=16+3=19 (I don't think we can repeat numbers...)

Ah, that would make things somewhat more difficult already.
[dice]fgccrgzjei[/dice]
[dice]pbfuuugggp[/dice]
[dice]jbotirvbha[/dice]
6+4+1=11?
If you can use anything besides simple math... 4²+6-1= 21
Sat Nov 01, 2008 8:49 pm
[dice]scgpcjyyhe[/dice]
[dice]lwhzadslnw[/dice]
[dice]loxtcaflzy[/dice]
(6*4)-6=18

Pardona: I don't think we can use anything beside simple math. Also, 4(6-1)=20
[dice]tnmqpyekwr[/dice]
[dice]scvqwhxgqh[/dice]
[dice]kunbhnckxv[/dice]
Well, via a bit of cheating...
6=3*2
6=3*2
3*3=9*2=18+3=21-2=19
Sat Nov 01, 2008 10:43 pm
[dice]ggufdocpsi[/dice]
[dice]lalwwsnspv[/dice]
[dice]njjsajqxbw[/dice]
5*5-5=20
Sat Nov 01, 2008 11:08 pm
[dice]htcewtqdfm[/dice]
[dice]vvrbyusydz[/dice]
[dice]pqzhwxiehp[/dice]
(3+1)*5=20
Sat Nov 01, 2008 11:37 pm
[dice]anwjdfwjve[/dice]
[dice]lcccssomcq[/dice]
[dice]gtihggxrzx[/dice]
(5+2)*3=21
Sat Nov 01, 2008 11:44 pm
[dice]wcrfcdanqp[/dice]
[dice]frbvwpwuxb[/dice]
[dice]fmewrfkpog[/dice]
3(3+1) = 12
Sun Nov 02, 2008 8:54 am
you're right... not working very well in a forum... how's about whoever gets 21 gets to change the dice and number to aim for? Would that be better?
[dice]mmrankhuib[/dice]
[dice]rcklvjofzu[/dice]
[dice]pboutavazh[/dice]
er... 6+6+6=18...
