Round 1
SSBB = Super Smash Brothers Brawl
To all of those interested in joining, there is no sign ups. You can just start playing right off the bat.
Story as of now:
A well-dressed man and a well-dressed dodecahedron head out to the center of the arena.
GM: Welcome to the next round of the greatest, ultra-slow, text-based version of a fast-paced, action-packed video game!
Megahedron: Oi.
GM: What? I have to be honest or the lawyers will go nuts.
Megahedron: Whatever.
GM: We have a lot in store for this game. Let’s get to it.
--------------------------------
Square Enix’s locker room. Cloud is bandaging up his arm and sword. Fei and Edge are practicing martial arts. Geno is oiling his joints.
Yuna: It is so fun being invited to compete here.
Sora: So is this like the Olympus Colosseum?
Cloud: Much worse. Much faster. Much more deadly.
BM: Deadly?
Cloud: Giant swords, raining fireballs, immeasurable pain, and that is just from your own team.
BM: Damn you Thief!
--------------------------------
In the stands, a man in a ninja outfit sneezes.
Fighter: Bless you, Thief!
Thief: I think my investment is going to payoff.
--------------------------------
Roy and Marth head out of the Hyrule locker room. Roy keeps looking back.
Marth: Something wrong, champ?
Roy: Who was that dog guy and the cat person?
Marth: Them? They are from some place called Nepia. Neopa. Something like that.
Roy: Hope they fight better than they appear. I don’t want our team to look bad.
--------------------------------
In the darkest corridors of the SSB Arena, a tall, silver-haired man is on patrol. He stops at a intersecting hallway. Another dark figure shows up.
Sephiroth: Is the plan set?
The new figure nods
Sephiroth: Excellent. We will bring down the SSBB once and for all now.
Sephiroth returns to skulking the corridors. The figure turns and heads out to the stadium grounds
--------------------------------
At the top of the arena, a cloaked form is standing by the statue of Samus. The form jumps and lands in the middle field. All of the other characters step back in awe. The form throws the cape off to reveal...
Ness: It is show time!
0500/1700 Rule: Regardless of when the last update occurred, you may make actions
after 5AM/PM your time zone. There is no need to wait for an update to make an action, but it is recommended. Any actions that break this rule will not count as a legal action and will be promptly (eventually) pointed out. If you miss one of the posting periods, you will not get an extra move.

Round 1 Announcements:
1: Okay. This is where I’ll tell you about the new changes. First thing you notice, there are almost double the number of characters. I warned you that I was going to give you every character you asked for and more.
2: Factions: Each character has been put in a group with other characters from similar games. Each Faction has a shared ability that all members may use once it is activated. Faction Abilities will come every Sunday. Faction members can attack each other. Also, bonus points are given to the first person to eliminate all of the members of a Faction. If someone else defeats the last character of a Faction, the person who got the character to 0 or less HP first get the Faction points.
3: Active/Inactive: Yeah... This one goes back to the first new update. There are too many characters. For most rounds, only half will be active at one time. I will do my best to designate which are Active and which are Inactive. Active characters cannot target Inactive ones. Inactive characters gain +1 HP (total) while Inactive. Later in the game, the split in characters will be eliminated and all the remaining characters can attack each other without restriction. All characters will be Active for Pokeball Saturdays, Faction Sundays, and Stage Wednesdays.
4: 0500/1700 Rule: An extended version of the old 1700 Rule. You may now make two actions a round; one after 0500 your time, the other after 1700 your time. Miss one, and ‘poof’ it is gone. This was made to make up for lack of players and to try to make the game a little more fast paced.
5: NPCs: The are waves of NPCs on the way. At least a fair amount per round. You don’t have to fight them, but that will bring down the characters faster and with little glory. Most NPCs die as soon as they reach 0 or less HP On the plus side, you can now split your attack to damage both PCs and NPCs! See the top for the new post style and below for details.
6: Bosses: There are two more Boss level NPCs this game. Both are quite powerful, but can still be handled with ease.
7: Dresspheres: With a large wave of Square Enix characters, they brought a new wave of special items for their personal use. Rounds that contain Square Enix characters may get a couple of these quite powerful items instead of regular items. The only downside is that only Square Enix characters can use them. They may even be accessed through other means. Your welcome.
8: Weapons: Only three new weapons, aside from the Dresspheres, this time. All will bring a new twist to the game.
9: Split Attacks: You can now divide your attack between two targets, one NPC and one character. You just tell how much you are dealing to the NPC and how much is going to the character. You still only do -3 damage with each attack, but there are other ways of defeating NPCs without a split attack.
10: Stages: There are five, potentially six, new stages this game. The first is the one you see is a one-time use round that will effect the whole game. Two new ones introduce a horde of special NPCs. The other two/three have special stage effects to consider. Scheduled stages will come every Wednesday.
11: The Referee: Since I know how much we all loved Reno last game, I have made him the referee for this game. That has absolutely no effect on gameplay whatsoever. I just thought it would be a fun thing to do. I may have him ‘eliminate’ NPCs and Bosses that have been around too long, but he will remain basically inactive the whole game.
12: Wow! That was a lot of first round announcements! Want to know the scary thing about all of them? You can basically ignore: 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11! Ha! More mundane announcements and other stuff will be doled out the next few days.
13:
All characters are Active.
This Round's Weapons:
1 Red Shell: -1 damage to one character and all members of the character’s Faction.
1 Fire Flower: -1 damage to three characters
This Round's Dressphere - Square Enix use only!:
Gambler - Lucky Shot: -3 damage to one character and +5 points to player
This Round's Specials:
1) Blaze: Tornado Jump: -1 damage to two characters. Blaze is automatically immune to special attacks
2) Deoxys: Ice Beam: -4 damage to one character. Target cannot attack or heal for the rest of the round. Cannot target special users.
3) Black Mage:
Stabby Time: -3 damage to two characters, or -5 damage to one character
This Round's Stage:
Forget-Me-Not Valley: Cordially invited... Round 1 only! At the end of the round, one male and one female character are chosen. They are ‘wed’ and cannot attack each other for the rest of the game. If they are the last two alive in the end, all players that have made at least 5 actions get +50 points. If one gets defeated, they are ‘widowed’ and the remaining character gets access to his/her partner’s specials. Wedded characters can be of any Faction, but do not share Faction Abilities.
This Round's NPC(s):
None
This Round's Faction Ability:
None
