The wind howled through the crooked trees, the shadows, projecting themselves, flickering across the boggy landscape. Rain beat down, into the devouring darkness. The full moon, however, shone brightly, defining itself from the dreary scene. A small candle guided the 31 travellers through the solemnity of the night.
"Pixa?" asked Kugetsu.
"Yes?" he responded.
"Well, where are we actually going?"
"Somewhere, some old manor on a hill somewhere. Inherited from some relative," came the firm reply.
"Why?" he asked, puzzled.
"Because... I'm not actually that sure. I just thought I'd advertise the trip in the local paper. There was no real reason to it."
"And when do we get that money?" ask Kugetsu, after a few minutes of awkward silence.
"If you survive to the end."
"The end?"
"Oh... just ignore that."
With that, a now slightly worried Kugetsu retreated back to talk to Alex.
-------------------------------------
The rusted door to the large manor eerily creeked open, and Pixa led into the building, the candle shining brightly. Suits of armor, shining brightly, as if just polished, paintings, obviously dating as far back as the 16th century, filling the dusty walls.
Pixa crept into the room further, with Christopher closely behind. The room flooded with light, causing Twinkle and WIS to scream. The candles and chandeliers that dotted the room had illuminated. A note had mystically appeared on the Persian rug which he was standing on. He scooped it in his hand.
"What does it say?" asked DM, nervously. Pixa cleared his throat.
"Well, it seems to be scribbled in a... red ink... yes... a red ink. It's very messy... yes... red ink. I can only make out a few of these words... I see 'away', 'die' and 'regret'."
"That doesn't sound promising..." she said, impatiently.
"Wait, wait. I think I know what it really means. If you go away, you will regret it more than if you die! Meaning, you've got to stay if you want the money," he stammered.
"Well, can I have a look at it then?" asked Tested.
"No, I found it. Anyway, enjoy the views, I'm sure you'll all find your rooms, somewhere." squeaked Pixa, as he hastily walked off. "I'll see you all in about two days, just settle in."
The group raised their eyebrows, and wearily sighed.
They could tell something was going to happen.
((Wow, that took longer than anticipated.
