"This is the Ambassador from Ilthanith, Elric Volriel. He comes to discuss with you . . ." The Counselor's voice seemed to drone on and on. Prana slouched slightly in her smaller throne next to the king.

"Eh-hem," the king cleared his throat quietly and glanced at his daughter. She quickly sat up and smoothed out the soft, vibrant pink silk of the dress over her lap. As the king continued with the business before him, Prana gazed vacantly into the distance, seemingly alert, but wishing she was some place else. She distractedly fingered the smooth silk and the gold brocade that accented it.

A whisper snuck from behind her chair and brought her attention back to the room. "I've got something to show you." The princess looked to the side the voice was coming from, but could not see the speaker without noticeably turning her head. "It's okay. I've already set an illusion in place. You can talk."

"Phew," Prana sighed in relief and looked to the right of her throne. "I have been bored out of my mind here. I understand why Father wants me to attend these meetings of the people, but they seem to go on forever."

"Yeah, you didn't look like you were enjoying the educational experience," the female remarked with a smirk. "Anyway, I've found something I want to show you. Come with me."

"I don't know, Maira, remember what happened last time? I got in a lot of trouble for that. Maybe I should stay here." Prana took a nervous glance at her father and the Counselor and then back at her friend.

"Are you serious?" The female wizard apprentice looked at her friend in disbelief.

Prana watched the next person walk up to counsel with her father. Counselor Admun introduced him and they started talking. Then the girl looked down the hall to the long line of people still waiting.

"Well, if you want to stay . . . " Maira shrugged and started to turn, dismayed.

"Ugh, nevermind. Okay, I'll come with you. I really cannot stand anymore of this today. I mean, how much can I really learn if I'm bored into unconsciousness?" Prana smiled and stood to follow her friend.

The other girl beamed and grabbed the princess's hand. "You won't be sorry. This is really cool. I can't wait to show you!" she said in as quiet an excited voice she could muster. The girls giggled and ran out of the room, careful not to bump into anyone.

Before leaving, Prana took one last look at her father. He had looked down at his daughter and asked her a question. She smiled up at him and nodded, watching the conversation intently. "Wow, you really are getting better at these illusions, Maira."

"Yeah, I know. With all the extra work Master Gorgeh has been dumping on me, I should be." The apprentice gave a wry smile and shook her head. She pulled at the princess. "Hurry up! We have to go while the way is still clear!"

"Ha! Okay, okay. I'm coming." Prana grasped her friend's hand tighter and they quickly left the room.

Hi all! Welcome to Landra. Landra is the name of the fantasy kingdom where this role-play takes place. I am starting it off in the castle, but who knows where it will end up. I have some ideas of where I might want to take this, but I want to let people post for a bit first and see where the characters might lean toward. Please follow the regular fantasy restrictions. No tech stuff (robots, guns, spaceships, cars, etc.). I would prefer for everyone to start in or near the castle, heading towards it, about to arrive. If you wish to add any NPCs (non-player characters for those of you who don't know) who work/live at the castle or who are a relative or friend of the Princess, PM me first. Most likely I will approve them, but I have some set characters in mind for certain people. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask.

Appearance: Wavy, golden-brown hair to the small of her back; hazel-green eyes; lightly tanned skin.
Occupation or title (if any): Princess of Landra
Other: Her family has governed over the kingdom of Landra for generations. She is the only child of the current King and Queen and will inherit the kingdom when they pass on or step down. She feels honored in her job, but often gets frustrated with all the work it entails. Sometimes she would like to be able to live like the other young people, with less responsibilities. On occasion, she will sneak away with her friends (most likely her best friend, Maira).

Other: Her family have been wizards to the court of the Lenore family for generations. Currently, her parents are away on assignment. She is studying under the High Wizard Gorgeh and hopes to become a wizard in her own right someday. She is a quick learner and likes to do extra studying on her own. Often, this "extra studying" involves things she is not supposed to learn yet.

I would like this role-play to stay in and around the castle for a bit. It's a big castle, so that shouldn't be a problem. If there is any other information you would like to know, just let me know. Other than that, post your bios and jump right in!

Appearance: Long, very pale blonde hair, which is straight. Green eyes, lightly tanned skin. Is fairly tall, and slim.
Occupation or title (if any): Prana's cousin. Royal, and will receive the throne if anything happens to Prana.
Other: Is also known as Kas, to her close friends. One of her closest friends is her cousin, Prana. She's headstrong, and tends to rush into things quicky, and loves adventure. However, she's also extremely loyal and sticks up for her cousin in fights.

Appearance: Azure has long blue hair and has very pale alabaster skin. She has deep blue eyes that can see as clearly underwater as it can on ground. Azure has the power to change from a mermaid to a Siren and as a mermaid, her blue locks cover her chest and she swim with a strong but yet elegant tail complimented by blue scales that shimmer under the sun. When in her Siren form, which is the form she mostly spends her time in, Azure displays a cheap looking set of clothes from a worn down tank top to ripped shorts.
Occupation: Azure is the representative for her clan and has come to the castle to discuss issues threatening her people's lives.
Other: Azure has the power to manipulate water although she is still practicing and can only bring forth drinking water and poison water if it is needed

Appearance: Dirty-blonde hair and brown eyes. He wears strange clothing, one of a neighboring kingdom. His skin is fair, and he sunburns easily.
Occupation or title (if any): Journeyman Wizard
Other: He was born in a neighboring kingdom, and moved to Landra at the age of five. His parent's are Ambassodors, but he had no interest in politics. Instead, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a Wizard. He is currently at the castle to visit his parents, who were at the meeting at the time (if that's all right).

Gender: Female
Age: Unknown
Appearance: Soft, mid-length fur of a pale grey-blue hue covers her body, seeming to have a soft luminesence about it. Her legs are that of an animals, but her spine is shaped so that she may walk on either two legs or four; with large cats paws serving as feet. Her tsil is that of a wolf's(picture lupe), with long flowing fur. Despite it's looks, it is remarkably strong and supple. Her forlegs resemble her hind, the toes of her paws able to be extended into fingers, but the arms long enough to provide for a feral gait. Her head is a mix of human and animal, covered in the same fur with cat-like features, though the muzzle is more that of a fox. Long, slightly wavy tresses of navy blue, from which protrude two fox-like ears. from either shoulder blade a large wing extends, each with silver plumage.

Other: The K'lyr are a reclusive species, thought to have nearly did out in earlier times. Almost nothing is known about them, though it is believed in most areas of Landra that they are vicious creatures, with small intelligence.

Appearance: Light brown-blondish shoulder length hair, piercing dark green eyes, medium height, wears long-sleeved, open, green, gold-trimmed cloak-thing with green shirt and pants underneath. Green shoes. Fair skin. Just for her normal form. She's kind of like a shape shifter in that she can change into other forms. If she changes, I shall include a lengthly description.

Other: He doesn't necessarily think he's a thief, he just borrows things. He's not malicious in any way, in fact very helpful (in his own mind). Has the natural abilities of flight (the wings!) invisibility, a 'feeling' about magic (basic magic detection ability, although he doesn't 'get' what that feeling is) and can polymorph at will. However, that said, he's a far cry from strong (c'mon, he's 4" high!!!) and is easily enough distracted ("ooh! shiny thing!") that he doesnt pose a real threat to almost anyone. Oh, and he's armed with a tiny bow and arrows and a small dagger.

Flying through the castle, Mallicus wondered how in the heck he got to where he was. First, he was following this nice man with a shiny gold necklace who must have liked Mallicus very much because it seems he gave Mallicus the necklace (or else why would Mallicus have found it in his own hands when he wasn't paying attention?). Then after some commotion with palace guards, who complained of ghosts and floating jewelry, Mallicus encountered a long line of people standing around. Well, actually they were slowly moving, but at SUCH a slow pace that he decided to help the people along by seeing what was holding them up. Flying to the head of the line he saw an obviously wealthy man and a young girl SITTING while all these people had to stand. Addressing the girl, who just gave off this itchy feeling when he approached her, he wondered why she didn't respond until he realized he was invisible again (that ALWAYS happens!) and was about to turn visible when he saw a flash from the man's pointy gold hat distracted him, and he flew over to it and looked at all the sparkles in it. It was at this point that Mallicus reached out to grab the pointy hat but realized the hat was too big for him (oh well) and he flew off down the corridor, completely confused as to why he came to that room in the first place. Maybe he was hungry, he thought, and flew off in search of food - for the moment.

The two girls laughed and talked of various things as they raced through the hallways. Maira had cast an invisibility charm on them, so they didn't have to worry about being seen, but when someone passed them, they carefully moved to the side so as not to bump them and raise suspicion. Finally, they reached an empty hallway in a less used section of the castle and Maira canceled the invisibility spell.

"Are we almost there? It seems like we've been running forever." Prana looked at the corridor around them. It was dimly lit and cool. The tapestries were very old and worn in spots from age.

"Yep. Just a bit more," Maira answered. She walked over to one of the various torches lining the wall. She grasped it started mumbling a charm.

Prana walked closer to one of the tapestries to examine it further. The colors were faded, but it seemed to be a representation of a battle long ago. There were knights with long lances riding white horses in formation. Wizards in long, deep purple robes circled a strange monster. It dwarfed the opposition, but seemed to be held immobile by the mages' spells. A beautiful winged woman flew above the creature, holding out an emerald gem, which showered light over the beast. The princess looked over the scene before her. She felt it was something she should know, but couldn't remember at the moment.

"Got it!" Maira said. A click was heard and she turned the torch downwards. A panel of stone slid into the wall beside it. "Okay, it's open. Follow me. You need to see this," the apprentice said. Excitement beamed from her voice and face as she turned to her friend and motioned for her to follow into the hidden doorway now opened before them.

Prana turned towards the opening in curiousity. A brief twinkle from the tapestry in the corner of her eye caught her attention. She looked it over again, but did not see anything that could have been the source. She shrugged. "It must have been my imagination. This empty hallway has me seeing things."

"What was that?" her friend popped her head back into the hallway.

"Oh, nothing. I just thought I saw something." Prana took one last glance at the picture.

"Well, come on, then. We don't have all day!" Maira walked back and grabbed her friend by the wrist. "We have to be back before the meetings of the people are over. I haven't exactly figured out how to make the illusions walk too far from the casting spot yet."

"Okay. I'm coming." Prana laughed, excited and curious. "What is this you want to show me so bad anyway?"

"You'll see," Maira responded with a mischievous smirk and pulled her friend through the doorway.

Age: 18
Appearance: Picture.
Occupation or title (if any): Worker in palace stables.
Other: Ella never got to know her parents, but she was raised by the finest archer of all centaurs, Fëlas Evenstar, who's last name Ella took as she regarded at him as her father. Her first name was given to her by her mother though, or that was what the village elder told her. For the past few years she has walked around the lands exploring all kinds of places, taking temporary jobs. Only a few days ago she got hired at the Landra palace to work at the stables, as they had had some troubles with all the horses there and her presence seemed to calm them down. In addition she knew all there was to know about horses and how to care for them, she was after all a half-horse herself.
Ella is rather quiet and a loner as a person, but if one gets to know her one can find a really good and loyal friend.

D'mitri stared in awe at the palace. He had forgotten how large it had been, and large it was! He closed his eyes, vaguely remembering the Princess. He hadn't associated with her much, as as she was a girl and he was two years older.

He was finally a Wizard! Or, close enough to one he considered himself one. He was a Journeyman, after all. He had decided to come and tell his parents the news, rather than write them.

A guard walked out of the Palace Doors, muttereing something about ghosts and floating jewelry. D'mitri shook his head, confused, and then addressed him.

"Excuse me, sir. Do you think you could tell me where my parents are? They are Ambassadors from..." D'mitri started, and then the guard interrupted them.

"Ambassadors? Probably in the meeting with the King. I wouldn't suggest going in the castle right now, though... there are ghosts in there."

D'mitri nodded, giving the guard his thanks. This certainly wasn't as he remembered... when had they started letting crazy guards in the castle? When did they start having crazy guards, even? Shaking his head, he entered the castle.

Ghosts, eh? They wouldn't hurt you unless you did something to make them want to hurt you. What nonsense!
