The pain in Ekkid's body grew and forced him to sit down. He commanded the nurse's brain to come over and heal him. The nurse turned around, confused by her mind. She looked over at Ekkid, with a confused look in her eye. Ekkid nodded and motioned with his hand for her to come over. The stiffness in his muscles grew to where it was hard for him to move anything except his head. The nurse walked over and looked his body over. Ekkid sent thoughts into her mind of where to look. The nurse continued looking, even though her face still appeared confused. Ekkid listened in to her as she debated several things in her mind.
The woman finally focused on Ekkid's back. It had been temporarily healed by Shiloh's energy, but was now slowly sliding back into the fracture. The energy that had been holding the pieces together was dissapating. Ekkid stiffened to the point where all he could move were his eyes. The nurse began to heal his back, placing a lot of energy into it. Ekkid listened to her thoughts, seeing that she felt fairly confident about the outcome. She began working around, and Ekkid sent a stream of guiding thoughts to help her heal him better. The final piece of his spine shifted into place, and the pressure was off of his spinal column. Feeling suddenly rushed into all parts of his body at once, making his mind scream out in pain. A psychic blast went out like a shockwave in all directions, flattening everyone except him. The streaming connection that he had with the nurse screamed too. The nurse thought that these were her own thoughts, and panicked. She accidentally sent a surge of energy into Ekkid's back, vaporizing one of the lower bones.
Ekkid mind screamed out in pain as microscopic fragments of the bone erupted in all directions. They shot out and riddled the chest of the nurse. They also went the other way, embedding themselves in Ekkid's left hand, which rested on his stomach. Ekkid's mind screamed again, another psychic blast shooting out. A tear fell from his face, its salt mixing in with the blood and wounds on his hand. Ekkid collapsed forward onto the ground, unable to support his own weight any longer. His mind let out one last wail and he fell unconscious.
Martio's mind heard the wail from the confines of the forest. Martio felt a pang of guilt, knowing that it was Ekkid that was in pain. That was quickly erased when he remembered everything that Ekkid had done to hurt him. Martio felt that it was time to call on a friend, one that could help him do what needed to be done. He slinked away, more sure of himself and his mission now. Things were falling into place in his mind, and he was sure that he could pull it off this time. He slipped into one of the buildings, heading downward. He now knew what had to be done.
